I'm TRYING to use the same one you are, but I can't make it do anything. Where do you even set it up? I see no options to even enable the joystick. Arghh!! Please help before it goes through the window!

One question for everyone - Has any considered the use a gamepad for JTL?  As strange as it might sound, many offer pc enabled gamepads.  I'm sort of wondering if being able to sit back in my chair not have to sit up connected to a stick would be of value.  Of course, using a joystick would have a better "flying" feel, but I was just wondering if anyone else had considered this option or maybeven used a gamepad for a PC based game.

I'm not sure off hand where you can find one...but  you can actually get a converter that lets you use your Xbox controller with your PC. If you happen to like the Xbox controller that is  =P

My Saitek reburbed X45 arrived in the mail, and it didn't work when I plugged it in. aarrgg. Be for warned.. NOT FOR SMALL HANDS..... It does fit my hands, the location of the buttons feel good, although the rudder is in the wrong place (the x52 moves it from the throttel back to the joystick). Good response from tech support, I would still recommend this stick.

when i first loaded in JTL i didnt have any problems. Stick worked right off the bat. Now, you do have to do some sort of configuration for the buttons like i did.  Next time your in beta, hit Ctrl+0, go to Controls and select Keymap. From there you bind whatever function you want to the button on the stick. Now whats important that many people dont do is when your done configuring your controls you hit "apply" then "ok". People just hit escape or enter but that doesnt save what you did. The Joystick doesnt need to be enabled, JTL works with sticks off the bat so no need to go to some seperate option and change your control options from keyboard/mouse to joystick like some games require. Make sure you see the stick is actually working using the profile software that came with the stick. If you press a button and you see it responding in that program then the stick is fuctioning normally. Go into JTL and config your controls and you should have no problem.

Done all that and no luck yet, guess I'll keep trying! Thanks for your help!

Ok, I think I figured out part of it, problem is that when I bind a joystick button, it won't work in game. Can you PM me your keymap, I can't figure out what else to do?

I'm with you, man.  It's a right-hander's world...

It's too bad the joysticks weren't reversible like refrigerator doors.  I've just found it's easier to adapt to using right-handed stuff rather than try to left-handed ones...

I really hate those left-handed scissors...

I'm thinking of waiting for the Saitek X52, I think it's out in November.

Just keep in mind that the joystick has to ACTUALLY be compatible with JTL.
There are a lot of joysticks that were on the DOES NOT RESPOND list during beta.
So before you go and buy it make sure it works with the game.

I REALLY can't understand why a simple 4-axis joystick like my good
old trusty ThrustMaster Top Gun is ignored by this expansion. It just
makes no blasted sense!

Hi Ive been flying with the Logitech Cordless a couple of days, and Im loving it...
Just one little glitch... The timeout on the stick is waaaaay too short

If for instance Im taking a break to let my shields get back up after a rough fight, the timeout usually kicks in before its done.

So what you you probably think, right?

Well as it turns out when the joystick shuts down the throttle ingame goes to max!!
Its a biotch getting back from checking the forums or something else you do while waiting and find yourself 50 fugging parsecs from where you were and probably shot to pieces by some hutt biotch

Just my two cents

oh and If anyone know how to change the friggin timer please let me know :-)
