I beleive its 32m x 32m

Edit: oops Goliath beat me too it - see above

But I too would like to know if this is the entrance area or the whole building footprint (so preventing anyone from placing structures over the building beneith the ground)?

P.S. to be clear - Goliath, I think the majority of us appreciate your work regardless of what is felt about the 'other' bunker...

SWG-Goliath

Is it possible to do this?
To select how many slots we want to use for the house to make it hold more items the more slots you use on it?...

I mean i don't want to have 3 house just to have some decoration here and there...

Hope you understand what my idea is

And people wonder why the Dev's don't come to the forums often?  Instead of a "thank you" for bringing us something cool, he gets people bashing him for stuff he wasn't even involved in ....

Some of us actually appreciate it.

Velneth, I am certin I speak for a great many when I suggest we would all much rather SOE pay for more coders at this point then artwork (nothing against the art team mind you, ). But... there are too many issues and clearly not enough coders to work on it. And dont get me started on the customer service!!!

I am sad to say I do actively look for other games. I love the Star Wars Universe, but not the Galaxies limitations and coder shortcommings.

I have decided. These thingies is not worth me buying this expansion ... for some time.

I am sorry. I love your design but... its not worth it for me at this time.

As an artist myself, I must tip my hat to you Goliath. This house is unbelievable! I really appreciate you taking time and explaining the process too. Heck it almost makes me want to give 3D design another shot.

40 days to make that bunker house??? no offense, but you are slow, and the design is "just ok", it could be a lot better. I'll have a design-off anyday with you big boy

I'd like to take that bet, too bad i can't

lets do it. we can. you use maya?

Welcome, one and all, to the arena!

Tonight, we have in one corner, GOLIATH! Creator of the Sorosuub yacht, the Y-8, and now, the beautiful Mustafarian Bunker house! A Master Artist who has proven his quality time and again!

And in this corner, we have the challenger, Jedi-Harlot! This figurative David claims he can out-design Goliath! A bold claim indeed! Can he do it? We'll just have to see...

It's not a case of them needing more coders, at least from my perspective.

What they need it a better method of giving priority to things, and having the process be transparent enough for everyone to see what's being done at this time, and adjust that process when community response warrents it.

I'm honestly convinced that the biggest problem with things not getting fixed is somewhere between where the bugs entering the database, and the bugs being assigned to someone on the code end of things. It could be problems with the QA system, or with the priority list that the leads create, or something else entirely. We've seen rapid fixes when the coders get a handle on the situation and work with the community. The key is getting to that point.

I'm sad to see how they are treating you Goliath...  They really dont know how hard or challenging to create something from scratch and into something great looking as your Bunker.  Plus, they have a hard time Letting Go that the 2 Year Vet Reward was in CONCEPT, and not a Reality check (*You would think when they posted the Vet Rewards on a Friday feature, there minds would of gotten the concept of THAT was a CONCEPT Thread*).

They might think, Hey, I got these Leggos, Let me build you something real quick that will take me a day and you took 25+.  Now if they had to create the Leggos themselfs, lets see how long it would take. (* A Cheap example since Computer animation isn't as straight forward, but a close example*)

SWG-Goliath  it is a shame then if the Dev's are holding you back from creating more things for the non-combat classes.  Look what you came up with in 40+ days, an amazing new structure that everyone wants, unfortunately for us we have to pay for it to get it.

I have a question for you. You said in a diff thread that 'this' bunker house is one that you started working on a few weeks ago and is not the bunker house that was mentioned as a one year vet reward...

can I ask you this straight up then...was 'that' bunker house ever worked on? if so, why would soe put you to work on a NEW bunker house when there already is one started on and or finished and not in the game? seems like a waste of resources to me. If there is another one completed already it makes more since to use it instead of putting out the effort and wasting valuable time to create a whole new one.

Not that I know of. The bunker house as a vet reward was an idea that we had but I dont think we ever got to actually putting an artist on that. I could be wrong, and maybe TH might have a more accurate answer for you

Then I think this is the bunker that was supposed to be a vet reward in a way

The fact that in the thread where TH mentions what would SWG vets like to see as a two year vet reward he tossed out the bunker house idea...

people in that thread LOVED that idea...pages upon pages of people said they would love a bunker house...

we now see the first bunker house as a reward...not a two year vet reward but as a reward for buying an expansion...

this is a slap in the face to SWG two year vets...as are the cheesy current two year vet rewards.

Goliath...don't get me wrong. The bunker house is awesome...but it is a slap in the face to the two year SWG vets...

and please SWG forum admins...don't for one second think I am trolling...I am discussing a MAJOR problem with SWG philosophy...

This will be my last comment on this subject.

Rouge 5 and I were having a discussion about what kinds of things players might like to have for purchasing this expansion, A reward that I thought would be as good as the BARC speeder has been. It was my own idea to suggest this bunker house and how it could also be implimented faster then normal structures. R5 liked the idea and so I created this house. Thats how this bunker got into the game. Had I not suggested it and a way to quickly get it in, you might never have seen a bunker.

I hope that clears things up.

I'm not knocking the house at all, in fact I love the idea. However

Make this house craftable!!!!  I'm not even an Arch, and I still want them to have some love

At least read the Arch boards and take some of their ideas

Give me a break... being an insulting ass to Goliath is really friggin lame!

I'm ONLY talking about calling him out for a "Designer Duel". That's just classless, mate.
If you weren't so rude, I might ask for pics of work that YOU have done... but I could not care less to see any of it now.

The other points of frustration that people are making, as was stated by others, really has nothing to do with Goliath, rather with SOE and certain philosophies. Yep it's relevant in this thread, but I just wanted to repeat that it's not the artist's fault.

So anyway, Thanks for coming by and giving us your own personal insights, Goliath.

Even the info about how this bunker came to be... I hope you understand how things look from the outside and seem like they add up as conspiracy theories (Even when the truth simply isn't so devious).

/secrethandshake

One last comment... sure, I absolutely agree with the architect community (And I think the SWG community in general) that new architect crafted structures should have been in the works and realized a few times already over the past two+ years.
I also understand that this has NOTHING to do with you, Goliath.
However, if they ask you to pull some more late-nighters to get some done, please consider it a worthy job to take on again!

Goliath Knox my sox off!

I normally don't post on the forums with criticisms of other posters, but when it comes to attacking an artist who has come here to publicly talk about the work they have crafted, I felt compelled to come and defend him.

I'm sure Goliath knows his work is great anyway.

That's all.

You need to rethink your thoughts.   Computer Animation, Computer programming, Art, Music and who knows what else they have to do for SWG is not easy.     To create something from Scratch into a Work of Art might seem easy to some, but when you try it yourself, you realize its not as easy as first thought.

You Talk about Sony Online Entertainment as a Company who is Unresponsive to their Consumers, But you have Devs reading your posts (*Mostly Off Hours*), making Notes on what you say, and trying to fix a lot of things you request.   It might seem like they are slow to you but I assure you, they are not.

Here is a question to you?  Do you work 40 hours a day?  Do you feel you accomplish a lot during your hours of Work?  Do you do computer Animation or Computer Programming during those 40 hours?  How about Art, you an Artist?  Do you create things everyday or do you work on 1 thing until you are Satisfied with the outcome?

I'm a Computer Animator / Modeler....  I consider myself very good compared to others in the field, but not the best.   To create a Computer 3D Model from a Concept Design might seem cut and dry, but its far from it.   (*I could go into a very long detail of what they would have to worry about, but I dont really want to type it all out. *)   The devs have posted most of this information throught he last 2 years, just read it.

To Sum things up, Did you ever wonder why Computer Animation Companies take 3 years to make an Animation film?  And please remember, this is an Animation Film, each frame they make might take an hour to several days to Render on there Servers (*24 frames = 1 second*)...  SWG is Real time Rendering on your computer, up to 30 frames a Second, which is great.    Sorry, ranting again.

Just think before you post, or at least, dont post if your going to be Rude to the Company that is making a Game you enjoy playing 90% of the time.
