Thank you Holocron...I understand how trying this has been for Everyone involved. I was a part of beta so I have some understanding of how the waiting game works. =) I did start to lose patience after 10 hours of clicking the register button but now that my husband and I are "finally" registered we are very excited to start our Star Wars life on the Eclipse server. We are rooting for you all over there on the technical side and appreciate all the hard work. Just wanted to send my gratitude and a positive message.
I just wanted to say to everyone who wasn't in Beta that this is what we saw whenever there was a problem. The Dev's working their butts off getting it fixed. It might not be the way we all wanted it to start, but it's a **bleep** fine example of just how much these folks care about us and the game, and how hard they are willing to work to solve these sorts of issues.
- I support the New Game Enhancements (NGE), and you should too! "You understand that we may update or otherwise enhance the Game and/or the Software at any time and in doing so incur no obligation to furnish such updates to you pursuant to this Agreement. You understand that online games evolve over time and, accordingly, system requirements to play the Game may change over time."
Oracle is usually used for boring old business software. It's not typically used in something so mission critical! Give 'em hell and give that database a workout!
Good luck, Holo and team.

Despite some of the more rude posts today, i can assure you that most of us understand that no amount of testing can assure a smooth launch day. More importantly, we are all pulling for you guys and we have confidence that you can work through these issues. Once again, thanks for keeping us up to speed on what is going on behind the scenes and reassuring us that server up-time is the top priority.
It may indeed have to do with the DB issues; I am unsure what exactly happened to your character. If you post the name of your character, I can see if one of the DB guys can take a look and see what's up. You definitely ought to be able to create a new character if the other one has been deleted.

i, personally, appreciate how you guys have handled this situation
you have provided us with more than enough information about whats going on, and we all know you guys are working your tuckus' off trying to fix it. Good luck!! We'll be waiting, some more patiently than others.
This is good for all the impatient ones anyway, a harsh lesson in spur of the moment calamity and the wait that usually results from it.
thanks for everything guys, dont let nay-sayers get the best of you
Holocron: Everyone that was involved in the beta expected first day glitches.. Heck we had them on a daily basis.. I would like to think that we have learned the meaning of the word patience. I for one, had a 8 hour wait until I got registered.. but, as frustrating as it was, I knew that the wait would pay off.. Why? Because this is a great game. I knew you guys would do everything you could to resolve the problems that have been occuring, just like you always have in the past.. So, for the new players, I would like to say, that I have never had such a rewarding time being a beta tester as I have in this game. All the Devs were great, they listened, they took suggestions, they replied.. everything, that until I played this game, I have not ever seen done in any other beta I have participated in. So, be patient.. they will square things away
