A lot of people are talking about better pings and whatnot, will this actually affect anything other then the server randomly going down? Will there actually be a performance increase or is that just wishful thinking? I apologize if this has been answered or explained already. I’ve read the whole thread but am still a little confused about what to expect from this....

There probably wont be a huge increase in performance, if any. But it should stop huge lag spikes caused by network issues FDC has been having and should prevent random server box crashes.
