Sobetan: To get to Kessel, as an Imperial, you must use a space station in the Endor sector. As a Rebel, there is one in the Dantooine sector, and finally, as a Freelancer, you must use on in the Dathomir zone.
Any profession can go there, no matter what faction they are aligned to on the ground.
There are no requirements for going there, other than watching your back, since you can be killed there by other players.

in the "ferrous aurora" hyperspace point on yavin4, theres multiple hutt tier 2s (400-600xp), 3s (1000-1.2k xp), and the occassional tier 4 "leader"(2k-3k xp). theres also some tier 4 imperial ships there.
hyperspace into endor, section D-435. near the space station is a rebel medical cruiser, it spawns 3 Bwings and 3 xwings. around 3200-3800xp per, and they always respawn. for solo grinding this is the best place that i've found to farm. you're also very close to the spacestation if you need repairs. in my opinion, always focus on the bwings first, their rockets can hurt.
i grinded out all my tier 4 blocks there with little or no resistance.

Any Imperial/Rebel base with patrols works. Just need to use the target closest/next NPC ship instead of target enemy (don't know the keyboard shortcut, bound it to my joystick button). Lok Imperial base has tier 2/3 TIEs and Dathomir Imperial bases has flights of Tier 3 TIEs with a mix of Tier 4. Great thing is that at most, you'll have 3-4 ships on you at one time (if it is a flight of TIEs). All other Imp ships in the area will ignore you until fired upon. Some of those flights are close enough to destroy all 3 Tier 3s with 1 ep1.
For those working on their tier 4 boxes, I have been working in kessel. All spawns there are tier 5. There are the occasional b-wings, x-wings, and a-wings. You will get the occasional gunboat. These are the toughest to take down but with the right attack they can be soloed. Each of these will give around 27k xp each. It appears that they can not attack you if you are dirrectly underneath them. All of the other craft that spawn give about 7k - 8k xp each.
Imperials with bomber strike have some advantage if they are out there solo.
Endor - Red Sin Chimerea Death Watch Fighters: Tier 4 w/ an occasional Tier 5. Tier 4 targets give 3600-3900 per kill and Tier 5 targets give 8k+/kill.
They will span in a group. After you have dispatched them all you get a just enough time to regen shields and capacitors. My guild does this with a group and we take our new pilots out there to level quickly.
If you are engaging the Hutt fighters you are too far out. Take a second and re-aquire a Death Watch fighter. Hutts are only Tier 3 and don't give enough xp to be worth the time and trouble.
Oh yes there are some tier 4/5 imp fighters but we leave them alone since it's such a pain to even hit'em anyway
If you have a little patience and skill I would suggest going to Kessle and huning rebal gunboats... Don't know if the imperial ships suffer the same weakspot, but the rebal gunships if you get behind and just below then their guns cannot target you. Sit there and take out the engines so it'll stop.... takes about 2 mins or so, but when you kill them you'll get about 26k of experience, and if your overt you'll get about 100 or so faction.
Only thing is you gotta be carefull when they turn to quickly reposition yourself. Now if you can get about 4 friends together this will roll in like mad. Me and some guildies do this while vette hunting and I racked in about 500k in about an hour
There appears to be a static spawn (has been there for over a week) of Tier 5 pirate bombers and light fighters at the "Emperor's hand" jump at Dathomir. They're located in the lava-rock asteroids. Sometimes, 3 bombers, sometimes 3 fighters, sometimesa mix, somtimes individuals. It seems to cycle fairly quickly and, if you're pretty decent at dogfighting up to 3 fighters, you can rack up the XP. I've made a bit over 2mil in the past few days. VERY handy (though I've gone to "kill and destroy" duty missions which pay, etc).

Another nice spawn is right at the Red Sin Chimaera hyperspace point. In a 3k or so radius, black sun ships spawn in Ixiyen/Rixyrhk/Kihrayx ships at tier 4.

If you're tired of running duty missions at Tier 2, or need some away time from Tier 3 frustration, I've found a good place for exp/loot to be around Lok at the Bloodlight Sea POI. There are always Teir 2/3 non-grouping non-aggro Nym ships there (also good for a Corsec Privateer mission where you have to destroy 5 Nym ships.) Mostly Y-wings, so they're slow and easy pickin's.
