LOL this is so true! I'm not FS myself yet, but I can usually spot a Jedi just by how he looks:
1) No title 2) Not buffed, but wearing composite 3) No badges 4) No masteries 5) Holding a gun not certified for 6) Rebel in an IMP guild
And probably a few others I've forgot. But point is yes, stood at the starport you get bored and start checking out other people to see what they're upto....

It's players like you that still tempt me to go for an FS slot. I don't know if I have the heart for all that grinding though, I currently have 4 holocrons, all of them calling me. 0.o
I am a TKM at the moment and I'm not sure I want to give it up, of course being a Jedi would be the icing on the cake but at what cost? Will it make me hate the game through the countless hours of grinding?
D3st0r wrote: The introduction of the Geonosian Sonic Pistols will change things for BH that manage to get a hold of them, but I don’t see that becoming a huge problem. First off is to get a nice acid resist helmet, since eyeshot is their special of choice (getting stun resists built in wouldn’t be a bad idea either, give at least some protection from the sonic pistols).
It's not just the Sonic Pistol, but the Jawa Rifle and Tangle Pistol. Most BHs Ive come across have either the Jawa Rifle (and use Headshot) or a Tangle Pistol (for the ever popular eyeshot). Id suggest investing in a nice 3x layered stun helmet. The Acid isnt a big deal because if you get a nice eff slice, on a 67% base helmet, youd have 90% resist to acid and can have up to 35% stun (Ive heard the cap on 3x stun is 45%, but 35% is the highest Ive seen.)
Also I think most make the common mistake of underestimating the Bounty Hunter. You forget he can dabble. He isnt defensless if he picks up some Pistoleer. And he can grab other stuff too. My suggestion is never try to fight anyone just run. It does'nt sound like a very Jedi thing to do but the Jedi profession in SWG is nothing like the godly Jedi from the movies an you cant play it like it is.
Just remember. That Bounty Hunter only needs Investigation 3 to come after you. Lord knows what other skills he might have picked up. Dont even risk it.

exactly. especially all that time you are an initiate.....I don't think many understand how weak an initiate is. a BH bragging about an initiate kill would compare to let's say jango fett killing anakin when he was 7 yrs old and working on his droids

Anakin also got mad when his mother died and killed 30+ tuskens. You can't do that in PvP at guardian lvl.
Bah WoW is overrated, City of Heros rocks, or better yet get another sony game and you can get the ALL ACCESS PASS for one LOW LOW PRICE and play both games.
Look at their fine selection: http://www.station.sony.com/stationaccess/ The Matrix Online, SWG, Everquest <- The king of all games, Everquest 2, Planet Side <- This game rocks,Infantry, Cosmic Rift, Tanarus

Anakin wasnt just any padawan.. and he wasnt just any jedi when he grew up..
Cibila -db-
and you could kill 20 tuskens easy

Something else I'd add to the Initiate -> Padawan guide:
Build yourself a "grinding" saber with the following in mind: Damage is most important. Speed is second most important. Force power cost is completely irellivant. Use your highest damage, highest speed, highest (not lowest) crystals to build your grinding sabers. Don't bother using one pearl in a saber with three other crystals unless you have no choice - try to use four crystals or two crystals plus two pearls.
Don't use specials in PvE combat. You waste your force power, you grind extra condition off your saber. With good kinetic resist armor and a decent fourth or fifth gen saber your default attacks + minor use of force powers can kill just about any creature smaller than a Krayt before it kills you.
Migtrate your stats. You have no need for strength or quickness, migrate these to the minimums. Max your mind pool, and your Willpower. You may wish to add just enough Focus to wear some low-end armor, or may want to add enough to get that full suit of composite on without consuming a focus-buffing food/drink. Put everything else you can to Health and Action. Health is more important than action, but try to keep them relatively balanced or else you present an obvious avenue of attack for an opponent - something like 1100 Health and 900 Action works well, for example
Get yourself two sets of Ubesee armor with four extra Ubesee jackets for PvE grinding. No point wasting good composite on the grind. Have a macro hot-keyed to remove your Ubesee, eat a focus-buff food, and don your composite.
Get yourself crates of weapon and armor repair kits. As you move to the middle of the tree and start laying a path of devesatation on Dathomir/Endor/Lok/Yavin/Dantooine you're going to grind through weapons and armor like crazy. Always carry a crate of each on you for repairs in the field.
Suggested skill path: 4/1/0/0 a cheap box and healing health damage/wounds is helpful early on. 4/1/0/1 force run away from danger 4/1/1/1 increase your force pool and regen 4/1/2/1 ditto above. we need enough force to use force throw when we get there 4/1/2/2 knockdown really helps - use it to kill targets more quickly 4/1/2/3 now you can do the knockdown + mindblast combo to increase your XP gains 4/1/2/4 force throw time! Quick 1500-2000 (or more) jedi xp per lair 4/1/3/4 increase force regen/pool for more lair throws, more KD/mindblast combos 4/2/3/4 the fourth box of Force Power is too far away 4/3/3/4 so lets get Healing II and III next 4/3/4/4 800k xp for Force Power IV 4/4/4/4 800k xp for the worthless HealAllSelf1 skill, and then 1.5M for the Padawan box
updated to fix a couple typos and reformat the skill path to be easier to read
