Theres one thing that no one has thought about at this time. Or at least no one that I know has ever brought up... Maybe some of us already unlocked our FSC and we dont know about it...... hummmm..... how many people just use their one character account and have never made a second character? Now I know on the other hand many power players have multiple characters but when you think about all the average everyday players out there.. how many have even tried to create a second character?? But what it all boils back to is did they ever say they would tell us when we had unlocked the FSC? I guess untill they either tell us there is one or untill some one pops up and can prove he/she is one we will never know....
I believe they did say that they would tell us when someone has opened the FS slot - and they haven't said it yet. I hope that they are sticking to that admission.
Honestly, I've been tempted to highlight any words I can think of regarding Jedi and the FS slot so that, in case it is an onscreen system message, I won't miss it if I get it.
I believe what they said is they would tell us when there was a FSC... but not wether or not some one unlocked the FS slot. I dont know. Maybe they did. But I would like to know is whether or not they will actually tell that person..?? Also.. just a question to all of yall reading this.. Who would be interested in a PA with the goal of helping peolpe who open FSCs? A Save the Jedi Foundation if you will? I for one would love to help the FSCs attain Jedi hood even if I could never be one myself. I wish to support and help them with all my resources.
thank you to everyone for this thread. i had honestly begun to lose interest in this game because i was starting to think that all my friends were right in saying it wasnt implemented. I havent mastered any profession yet, but this has kick started my need to do so... i WILL be the first Jedi on Sunrunner.

There has been discussion in other threads about one-time music cues playing at various times in the game--first time visiting a planet, completing certain quests-- perhaps the music cues indicate when you've 'checked off' an item in your list?

That's an interesting thought I hadn't considered, the music. But it isn't always triggered by events that you do, often it's in synch with the time of day. I'd previously thought that it was a very large coincidence.
I do have questions.... Nobody has any comments on what the final steps to unlock will be? Nobody has found any flaws the with ideas I presented? Or, did nobody read it because it was on page 2, instead of the start of a new post?
I'm not positive about the killing of the dark jedi.... since there's a converse option, I've been wondering if it shouldn't go the other way around, but I'm not sure.
Something else I'm not sure I made very clear - all of the steps I mentioned as possibilities may not all have to be completed. Some may be ones that everyone has to do, and depending on which they did when, some options may not be an option any more. (Similarly to the "Choose Your Own Adventure Books" - my new favorite analogy of the FS system, but that may be because I thought of it. )
Firstly, DeathsheadIII, Holocron already posted that someone got a system message (in error) telling them that they had unlocked the slot, so if you HAD unlocked it, you would know.
Secondly, this quote disturbs me, specifically the first sentence.
We will not be choosing who is Force sensitive randomly. If we did this, everyone would be Force sensitive because they'd all try over and over until they got it.
Maybe it's just because it's 5:30am and I haven't slept yet, but I think I'm reading too far into this statement. To me it looks like everything we've been theorizing goes against this statement. It looks like he's saying that it's not a laundry list of specific objectives or random objectives, but a specific line of action that they themselves will be involved in. If you look closely at that first sentence, they say people won't be chosen randomly. Well the only way to choose people other than letting the system choose randomly is to hand pick them. I'll come back and read it again when I wake up, but this is definitely something that's going to make my sleep difficult...

I suppose it depends on your definition of random. Mirriam Webster ( www.m-w.com ) defines random as:
"without definite aim, direction, rule, or method"
I think that's the true definition that they're going for. Most people were under the assumption, in the early parts of development, (from what I gathered from the quotes), that they would have no idea what was going to happen, and that it would be pure luck.
The reinforcement of the "no, it will not be random" seems more of an answer to the fact that they had a system, a progression, in mind when they were setting up steps... Not that they were hand-picking people.
I may, of course, be mistaken... although hand-picking players doesn't seem to mesh with something that was stated. (It's now 6am for me, so I'm having difficulty thinking 100% clearly myself.)
Speaking of which, I'd like to make a correction to this part:

The above quote is often mentioned whenever anyone lists a theory that has steps. I would like to point out that, at no time, does that quote specifically talk about Force Sensitivity... Just Jedi status.
Also, go look at the epic quest walk-through for any class in EQ. It is all exactly the same. The person you need always spawns at the same exact place, often on a cycle, you always get this certain item from them, etc. That is quite different from any system that involves unlocking steps, as this one does.
The first statement I made was in error. That quote was later amended to state that where they said "Jedi" they meant to say "Force Sensitive". However, the fact that my suggested system has steps is still different than the type of steps they are referring to (see my mention of EQ epic quests - that's more of what they were trying to avoid, imo).
There are also several quotes mentioning that there are, indeed, steps to becoming force sensitive. Moreso, in fact, than ones stating that they didn't want a direct spoiler released. I will quote them at a later date if desired to do so, although I'm sure you can look them up yourselves on Ceist's post, here:

since when do dark jedi have converse options? i never saw a dark jedi, i only killed a master dark jedi and looked at about 100 of them. i know a spawning area....but its a sekrit
