Guide to Sarguillo Quest: Phase 3
So far, the quest to get melee accuracy from Sarguillo in Phase 3 has been the most challenging of the village quests so far. This quest is also unique in the fact that it can easily destroy groups of 20 trying to complete it. However, like most “impossible” quests like the Corvette, there is a trick involved.
Also this quest has one of the nicest rewards for any quest in SWG. In addition to the Melee Accuracy unlock you get a unique color crystal that can be used by Jedi, and an unlimited use mind buff crystal.
Unfortunately, only two people can receive credit for this quest at one time: the person that drops the shield around the camp, and the person that captures the Sith Commander.
First off, don’t go in a large group. A group of 4 or 5 will work best, however it is entirely possible to do it with a duo, if given the right set ups. I recommend that you have at least one healer (Doc or CM), one ranged, and one melee class.
In order to begin the quest, you require at least one shield code disk, which can be looted from one of the Sith Pirates that randomly spawned around Dathomir. You can always find a spawn of about 8 or 9 Sith Pirates and a Sith Thug or two around one of the Sith bases. Unlike the Sith that tried to take your Crystal, these guys have been working out. Bring a friend or two along unless you know what you are doing.
After obtaining one of the shield code disks, bring it to Captain Sarguillo in the Village and he will turn it into a remote control that will turn off the shield generators around one of the Sith Camps. You will notice that the remote has a name like “an ‘eta’ shiled generator remote”. ‘Eta’ is the camp name. The positions of the camps are different for each server. Look on your server boards for Camp Waypoints.
Get together with your partner, hopefully some friends, and head on out to the Sith camp. Set up your party about 150m or so away from the front gate, and designate a ranged class as your runner.
Now it’s time for the fun to begin.
The first person who needs credit will approach the camp and activate the remote, this will drop the shield and begin the encounter. During this time, it would be nifty if the runner could also destroy the gate, the small turret(s), and the antenna. Pretty soon at least 5 very nasty Sith Thugs will spawn. These guys have around 50k HP, around 80 resists, medium armor, and they sport a nasty blaster which can hit for upwards of 3k a shot. Even better, if a large gank group is there, even more of them spawn. I’ve tried doing this in a group of 20 and ended up getting about 30 of the little buggers zerging us. Needless to say we didn’t last too long.
A better way of doing it is getting a runner and tackling these sith thugs one at a time. I recommend your runner have some sort of AOE shot. Have him run out and either drop a bleed on only one of the sith, or just AOE the whole lot of them. If they all come, either burstrun or use a Parwan Nutricake to get out of there quick. If all of them come, burstrun a few 10s of meters to the side of your group. After awhile they will get bored, and your group can pickoff one or two of them to kill. If you bleed one, lure him back to your waiting group. llowing the runner. The Sith thigs don’t do nearly as much damage in Melee as they do ranged, so make sure your melee class engages the Sith. Continue doing this until you have killed 5 of the Sith Thugs; the Sith Commander will now spawn.
After this, have the runner aggro all the Sith one last time while the second person burst runs in, goes into the camp at the center of the base, highlights the Sith Commander and selects “Capture” from the radial menu.
“The Commander has been captured by someone in your group. You must ensure that he is delivered to Aurilia safe and sound.
If the commander does not make it to the village, you will not receive credit for this mission. Should something unspeakable happen to your party member and they can no longer retain custody of the commander, you may recapture the commander if you can catch up with him. This way you can still receive credit for the mission, even if your partner fails.”
Now, get out of there and get back to the village. The person who captured the commander shouldn’t stop for anything. You have one hour. Fortunately the Sith Commander is pretty spry, break out your mount and start on your way back, he should be able to keep up on anything except for the steepest cliffs. Don’t worry about the distance. Our group was able to clear over 8km with plenty of time to spare.
Congratulations! You just unlocked your melee accuracy branch, gotten yourself a nifty unique color crystal, and a really nifty mind buff crystal.
Special thanks to Deskrut my partner for capturing this bugger, Tomoe, and Or’ion for helping out with these darn Sith thugs.
