I just got a Saitek Cyborg Evo. I'm a lefty with small hands. Even with the rest adjusted all the way up I still can't reach the 6 button very well. I was thinking about trying to find one of those freebie mouse pads I've got stashed around here somewhere and cutting it up so I can make a pad that will lift my hand up a little more. Sounds like that should work. I haven't played flight sims in ages, not since I used to play on my Dad's computer. So I downloaded the Naboo demo. That took a lot of getting used to, so I can tell I'm going to need a lot of practice before JTL comes out.

I'm a bothan in game. Will I need a booster seat for my ship too?

Have we seen any official word about what joysticks, and features, will be supported?

400???  I bought my X36 for $99 at Compusa about 5 years ago, since then, I got another dirt cheap for space parts

X45 is $75 at Compusa...Thrustmaster and CH are a little more expensive..  CH is the extreme, their stuff is like it was stripped right out of a real airplane, that stuff lasts forever (you don't want the pilot snapping the controlls while in flight).

a hat button is a multi-directional button... it usually lookes like a ridged cone coming off the the joystick, or a bird's eye view of a japanese famer's hat... they usually come in 4-way or 8-way varieties... 4-way means you can push the button up, down, left, or right... 8-way includes diagonal directions... same thing goes for the lesser seen "castle switches".. they function the same, they just look like the head of a rook from chess...

for the most part, hat-switches are programmed as point-of-view (POV) buttons... which allows you to look around in the cockpit of these simulators... but on most sticks now you can program them to do other things...

anyone interested in game pads selections? i can do some research into them. I used a Thrustmaster Firestorm Dual Power 2 (Firestorm 3 shown, which is the same as my discontinued Firestorm 2 just updated) when i transitioned from playing console games years ago to PC and it worked great till i outgrew my need for it and went onto joy sticks. It handled BF1942 like a dream and felt very comfortable like a PS2 and Xbox controller. This may provide alternate gaming experiences for those who i've seen post that some sticks may be too big for their hands.

i just bought a stipped down version of the saitek cyborg gold and noticed after i bought it that it dosent have a twist handel for rudder control. i guess the twist on the handel is supposed to be used for roll and the left/right axis on the joystick for yaw.

is roll a big deal? i mean is it really nessicary to fly well? i dont really invest more $ into the gold stick because im cheap. so maybe i could use the hat switch for roll?
