It seems that the former method of camping low level thug spawns for hours is not going to be feasible.
Is this an official line or an assumption made. I got my crystal by using exactly this method even if it took me longer than before patch.

Non static spawns have always dropped crystals. AFAIK all npcs have a chance of dropping them.
Jawas have also been hinted at as dropping crystals
Jawas have always dropped crystals - are you implying Jawa drops have increased or just stating that people have found some on Jawas?
Lets get out there and start looking around for other ways to get crystals besides /targetCycleOutward

If drops have decreased and moved to higher level NPCs then we have simply created a Krayt system for Crystals as well. We wanted the old one changed but at least anyone stood a chance. Lowered drop rates will only serve to force crystal pricing up. Moving loot to higher level NPCs will require even more time spent using your alt character. This is a most unsatisfactory solution, particularly to those who were not farming crystals pre-patch.
Garva says they have no further comment on this but I think they are entitled to explain to their customers why they are forcing a loot based economy and discouraging the use of Jedi characters, when a simple increase in drop rates and making crystals untradeable would solve all problems in the short term.
