Ok guys, Fantastic Thread.. I have read all of the posts so far and have not seen these so far.

Did you know? (Artisian)

I find that a lot of artisians are running around not knowing how to experiment. I know the manual is not very descriptive on this issue, and I didn't figure this out untill Engineering 3. To experiment or make a Manufacturing Schematic, I find it is best to use the actual crafting tool for what you are trying to craft (i.e. pistol -> use weapon, droid, and general item kit) and here comes the big shocker. Those big machines in the city that say public crafting station for whatever kind of item... You guessed it, that's what those **edit** things are for. Stand within the area, use your specific crafting kit (no interaction with the actual machine is necissary) and presto! A new screen comes up just after you successfully craft the item. Build Prototype, Build Schematic, And EXPERIMENT!!!! Trust me, if you are still running around with a beginning pistol or some other type of CDEF Piece then you need to try this. You can increase your damage, range, durability, and efficiency. Since I didn't figure this out till the end of Engineering 3 almost 4, Increasing the range and dmg of CDEF weapons by a amazing 33% each was actually quite easy, that and im a human (increased experimenting ability). You will see a dramatic increase in damage to your target as well as range. I have not messed with the efficiency, but I am assuming that it would probably increase your rate of fire or something like that... I have also not done this on armor or melee weapons, but I am sure the concept would remain the same. Of course this goes for any type of item you are trying to make. Though I really didn't see the benefit of experimenting on things like camps.

wow that was a long one.

Did you know? (Artisian)

Ok here is another that just might have slipped by you. As an artisian I am very broke 95% of the time. Between maitinance for extractors, buying hides, buying bones, posting on the bazaar to sell items, buying shuttle tickets to go get all the hide and bones I was buying for "Bargin Prices", as I am sure most of you artisians know, you don't have a lot of time to do boring delivery missions for chump change. As for destroy missions as an artisian they should be renamed "get your ass handed to you" missions. Now over all for most beginning artisians (not sure about the advanced ones) bones and hides are like gold cause you can make armor with them and sell it for a pretty penny. Problem is where do you get the money for buying all the hides and bones you need, etc, etc, etc, it's a vicious cycle as you can see. Well never fear, I have your solution. Take your 100cr and go get scouting!!! You don't have to bring down dewbacks and banthas to get a decient amount of hides. Go right outside the city and kill all those minor creatures! With a harvesting skill of 2 I get at least 5 hides per creature. It takes a max of 2 hits to kill these things. Not only that, but in case you haven't noticed the spawn rate for these little creatures is much faster than any big animal you will come across. Not only that, but start attacking these things in front of storm troopers. Even though they kill it, you still can harvest it. So attack once, let the trooper take it while your getting another. By doing this I go 250 leathery hides in about 1 hour. Bones are even easier cause they are not a specific type usually (i.e. womp rats give leather hides and rill's give bristly (i think), but they both give the same type of bones). Now buying 250 hides on the bazaar is like 2500cr (plus possiblities of travel exp). Now for an hour of your time you can get you these hides plus the exp (however small) will add up. You could also sell them to higher skilled artisians with money to burn if your that strapped for cash. But out of 250 hides, you can make probably 5 - 10 Bone Armor Boots (one of the first armor you can make) depending on failures etc. I sell these boots from 1000 to 2000cr each... plus you get crafting xp. So low balling it that's 5k instead of 2.5k plus all of the experience for probably the same amount of time you spend looking for that great deal and traveling to go get what you just bought.  Sorry Scouts.

Geez, that one was even longer.

Oh well, hope this helps some peeps. Once again this is a great thread and all you higher lvl peeps don't be stingy with the tips and shortcuts!!!

That's all I can think of or have figured out at the moment.

Question though, does anyonelses mouse zoom not work?? I cannot go into First Person Mode...

Here's a good attack formation we use when hunting things:

Marksmen go prone or kneel just into range

Medics follow the brawlers to the front of the line

Brawlers start the attack and then the markman attack

Medics just run around healing the brawlers

With this you can take down a herd of dewbacka in a matter of minutes.

I form hunting\missions parties almost every night in Eisley around 7:30 PST, if you are around give me a /tell

hehe, oh yeah forgot one.

Did you know?

For artisans and those "get your ass handed to you" missions, something you might wanna check out is the stat migration. Ctrl C then click the stat migration button. The mouse overs explain the stats pretty well, if that's not enough then check out the manual it has good descriptions of what all those stats mean. The "optimized" stat settings (default ones when you start your char) are not necissarily the best as you have probably figured out the first time you fought something that was bigger than a minor whatever. Now this takes quite a lot of TIME!!! So don't expect this to happen within an hour, try more like a day or so. Don't underestimate the power of those stats that are not transformed into neat little bars at the top right of your screen. These are the ones that determine how fast you loose those neat little bars and how fast you recover them.

ok im gonna cut this one short.

I've seen a couple of questions about this and I could have scimmed over where someone replied but I'll answer anyway *winK*

On the Community Page (Ctrl +P) under character you can display your title with a drop down menus.  After you acheieve all boxes of a certain thing and there is nothing above it on the skills sheet it will often put a new title in there you just need to check occasionally:

i.e. When I obtained all First Aids 1 -4 , Field Stablizer appeared in my drop down box but on the skills page nothing is above FirstAid.

So just keep checking

Also on this page you can add your Star Wars Bio

And I have a question: how do you earn badges (they will be displayed here too)

~Corbantis : Kalinya~
Bothan Ranger 4440 CH 0204 / Master BioEngineer
~Starsider : Graxinda~
Wookiee Master Doctor (from the very beginning) / Master Merchant
~Other Professions Include : (Corbantis) Master Smuggler/ Master Pistoleer
(Starsider) Master Dancer/ Master BioEngineer~

Can't find a certain resource?  Is that certain resource really crappy or in low quantities?  Go to a different planet!  I was playing on Corellia for a long time, then headed over to Talus to check for minerals - what a difference it made!  Instead of having like 36% concentrations of high quality low-grade ore, there were 65% and higher!

Good luck!

These might be obvious, but it took me a while to figure them out:

For destroy and delivery missions, you can easily find 2 in the same direction.

Just close the mission terminal and open it again!

If you find a destroy mission that is 500m E. Accept it, then keep opening the mission terminal to find another that is E. This is really helpfull when missions are far away from a city.

Remember, you can always give up skills.

If you are training to be a master marksman, pick up novice doctor.

It really helps to treat yourself on the field, or when you're far from home, in camp.

Use skills to aid yourself excelling in others.

Thats my .02

Get a droid.  Take 2 missions and put them into your droid.  Get 2 more missions and put them into your droid.  Do this until you fill your droid and you have two yourself.  You have to keep your droid open, once you put him away you loose all of the data.  Make sure you don't have to cross water.  This is a good way for one person to make a killing in one trip.  Make sure they are all in the same direction.

Rest up your mind pool, and it heals any wounds that you, or the selected person has, on a one by one basis

Or you could just use /tendwound without any arguments, and it will tend whatever needs tending.
