Forgive us for our well deserved pessimism. The game is better, but there is much that needs to be done... and by that I dont mean some lame expansion.
Its not "well deserved pessimism" - if you had actually read the thread instead of just jumping on the bandwagon you'd have seen Goliath STATE that he was at home, had just looted the SEA and didn't want to wait until the morning to find out the answer from a programmer. But heaven forbid we treat him like a regular human being and just answer the question without making cheap shots and trying to sound clever.

I was speaking in general reference to the developer/customer lack of communication and customer overall dissatisfaction. Yes they are human. I know that in a very personal way. As the saying goes, some are more human then others.

Do people honestly understand object oriented programming? During programming class, I was given a project to create a timing mechanism for an elevator. It had to accept input in a certian way and give output in a certian way. This object had to control a couple of other objects called light and floor. It sent information to them and recieved information back from them.
Another programmer in my class had to write an object named floor. It had to send information to an object called scheduler. This repeated throughout the entire class with different parts of the whole thing. All of these objects were placed in a master program called building. None of the programmers knew if it was even going to work at all until the final project was done. In the end we spent two weeks debugging various parts of the whole. Because we got strange responses back from certian parts of the system.
Very frequently, in large programming shops people don't see even what the project they are working on effects. I have a very good friend that programs parts to a missile guidance system. He is told if his program works or not by management. We have an advantage in MMORPGS in the fact that programmers actually get a chance to mess with their product.
Goliath is a artist. He is asked to make artwork objects for another team that codes a game portion of the game. It is very unlikely he has alot of knowledge how the base system works. He can see his artwork running about on things and tell if it looks correct. But that is like saying the painter can tell if his painting is straight on the wall to the new museum. He didn't exactly make the wall to the museum fit his painting. That was done by the construction workers.
actually the higher mods will override all other mods so if you have a item with 4 slots and you have 3 taken up, and you got a uber CA that has stats that are all higher than anything you currently have it will override the ones in the item.
highest mods have preference whether they are in the item already or on the tape in the case of what sticks if they are the same it goes by order of appearence in the CA itself.
if they have the number on the CA and the item not sure but i beleive that the mods on the item take precedence over the ones on the CA if they are equal. but im not sure
Interesting. I'll have to pay closer attention to my skill mods now!
I am an artist at SOE so sometimes I just don't have the answers to some of the high level parts of the game. No one in my guild had the answer either so i came here. Sadley I forgot to use my normal characters name. I just looted this tonight (i'm not very patient) I didnt want to wait till work tommorow morning to ask one of the designers anyway so thanks again for the timley answers
there are other cases with CA that can mess ya up too but the coding devs prolly dont know how they work either so you came to the right place lol. anyway there is a major bug with CA/AA as well you are SUPPOSED to be able to put say a +10 artisan expirement in the same piece of clothing as a +5 artisan experiment and they are supposed to to take up seperate slots and stack. but what happens is the the smaller mod will poof.
maybe give TH a yell and get him to post a guild to AA/CA usage.... this is a VERY common question

OMG! Is this a joke?.... ok I will take the ban..................................It's bad enough that this stupid game is all but broken and the devs are fixing crap that totally doesn't matter . While all at the same time adding an expansion for this game when the one they have going now barely works while the regular game is still broken.
Now we have a dev who is incharge of making this hmmm piece of crap. And he don't know how it works either. Better yet he knew better then to send in a ticket to a csr to ask because he knew he would get the "we don't care forum letter" ROFL
1) You should get your facts right before you jump to conclusions. There is more then one programing team that works on SWG, so the expansion and the team that fixes the bugs are two sperate teams. Yes bugs suck but live with them, no on-line game, is EVER bug free!!!
2) I love to see all the people that whine about this game, the bugs, ect, but yet for some reason never cancel thier accounts.
Hit him with the banstick. Hard. In the @$$

I'm happy to see that a few Dev's actually play the game. That gave me new hope for this game.
And to those who are dissing the Dev team b/c a dev didn't know the answer to a question.. did you not read what he said "I am an artist at SOE" not that he was in the programming group.. get your facts straight before dissing someone over something. That'd be like a customer calling me and b!t**ing at me for some furniture being spec'd wrong with i'm the IT manager... that has NOTHING to do with my department... I'm not a CAD operator.
And also wanted to say IBTL.

Well Goliath, it's good to know you play the game....at least now we know you can walk down the hall and yell at the other devs to get you new Smuggler content.
