"Game" is broken in more ways than one, but this time its not the "game" that has failed you and all the rest of us, its the damn hardware.

Plenty. It's been very poorly received. As much as the majority of us desire the game in its pre-CU state, I would venture to say that there are at least as many active players that have only ever played the game in the NGE incarnation and would desire "their" own server "that" way.

Hardware failure is a fact of life for datacenters, but I must say this particular datacenter has had quite a few failures with you guys in a short amount of time. It might be time for the Emu developers to take their money elsewhere. I'm sure it's a much bigger pain in the *** for them than for the testers & players.

    Just my two cents!

Take this with a grain of salt because I'm far from an expert.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but SSD's are usually used for the server's Operating System because they have much faster read/write speeds than normal HDD's. One of the downsides to current SSD's is that they have a higher failure rate and degrade slowly with use. The physical, magnetic media used by HDD's is much more reliable, and cheaper to buy with massive storage capacities. I would also suspect that the HDD holds much of the "meat" of the data (player data, tables and such, etc) but again I could be totally wrong.

Is it possible to get the code so I could run the game on a private server?

Only the new OR code that is still in development, one running on TC: Nova.

Liberator code is considered a dead code, no longer in envelopment and it is not open source.

But even with RAID of any sorts, if a drive goes bad, it can take a GOOD long while for the data to be rebuilt if a new drive is put it considering if the RAID was some sort of mirrored array.
