Come join the SWGEmu Staff for a fun event for those who make our homes shine with creativity.


We are proud to announce the Galactic Home Showcase, a galaxy wide decoration contest where one and all can see, visit, and be amazed by the greatest and most creative homes across the galaxy! Our first instance of the Showcase will feature guest judge Mobyus1, as he will be assisting us in selecting the winners of this competition.


The rules for this competition are the following:


Entries must be submitted from the date of this message until Friday June 23rd , at which point the judges will evaluate the entries and announce the winners at Empire Day (06/26/2023)!


Entries will be categorized by the size and style of the building. There will be three categories:
-Small Tier, which includes all Small-style homes.
-Mid Tier, which includes Medium- and Large-style homes.
-Large Tier, which includes Cantinas, Hospitals, and Player Association Halls.

Homes will be scoring by three judges through the following, Theming, Item Creativity, and Overall Aesthetic. Each judge will have awards 1-5 for each category for a total score from 3-15 per entries . Staff members are ineligible to enter.

An award will be given for each category. We ask that you title your response with the designer or decorator who designed the interior of the home, a set of at least three screenshots, and the location of the structure (Planet and coordinates). Please make sure these houses are Public so that both the judges and other players can visit and enjoy your wonderful abodes.

I'd like to enter please! Mid-tier (large house). I don't expect to win anything, but I had a lot of fun decorating my house and im always happy to show it off!


Svards House, West Eisley Bazaar, Tatooine, 1874, -4827

Decorator: Me! My main is Anstalt, second is Svard.

This is my only house, so it serves as both storage, crafting hub AND personal shop. As you might imagine, I ran into the item limit pretty quickly! This means some of my rooms feel a bit sparse, but I tried to get something into every room.

General theme I was aiming for was a kind of Morocco back-alley underworld vibe. Svard is a smuggler, and so I wanted to sell plenty of spice! Anstalt has some endgame loot to be selling too. So, the main room is kind of what I might imagine a black market dealer's shop would be like - friendly, ostentatious, with tables and chairs for passing out in if u take too much spice!


Anstalts Loot:
Pic below is of my loot vendor for my main. I wanted the big pillars to give the impression of looted statues: they are clearly out of place in this size of home! Some scattering of loot on the table, including crystals, some NS lances and a broken ADK. It was supposed to be bold, over-the-top, ostentatious: perfect for a guy selling loot!


Operations Room
This one's a bit bare, but I wanted a back room where it looked like I could be planning missions, calling allies. Like a command centre. I need to replace the painting in the back corner with one of those big tall consoles, but otherwise it's OK.


Spice Vendor
I wanted this to feel like a stall you might find in a Moroccan bazaar, so the vendor is out front, ready to talk your ear off! Spices on display, bit of decoration etc. I still need a "roof" to the stall, but I've yet to find something that fits well

Yes, our fine guild/city would like to participate as well. I do most of the deco and I am very much a minimalist, so my buildings are intentionally not as 'busy' as others. I also like to do things in other areas of the larger buildings, so feel free to explore. Lastly, I do try to drop and easter egg or two here and there.

All structures are in the city center of The Wildlands on Dantooine, just west of the Mining Outpost. Easily shuttled to, or ride the 800m, your call.

Easter eggs abound in Nika, so dont forget to look around. Some are more obvious than others, but all are one degree of separation from Star Wars. You get to figure out how Have fun!!

Concept : Sine original servers, I like these "Cabinet de Curiosités" houses, showing visitors how rich is SWG with exotic and fun items to decorate house.
I think it is pulling up curiosity and make visitors want to explore quests and planets to find these rarities.
With time these kind of houses tends to transform into small Museums.
