[SWGEmu Event] Something Wicked This Way Comes (October 21st to October 31st)

Basilisk - Something Wicked This Way Comes

    10/21/2021

    The SWGEmu Events Division

PVE Celebration Event/Quest - Something Wicked This Way Comes

    When:
Sunday, October 31st, 2021 at 6pm PDT/9pm EDT/1am UTC (Check your time here)

    Where:
Basilisk Server; Various Starports (Exact location will be made clear in system messages)

Come join the SWGEmu Staff celebrate Halloween with a new experience!

There is always talk in the back rooms of the local cantina, whispers of ships long overdue and those lost among the stars. Chatter of what those holds carry, what lies within those ships, even pirates and brigands recount stories of unmarked ships veering into their paths, or sitting idle one moment and vanishing the next. These sightings are especially common this time of year, no matter what the Holonet Programs do to debunk; the sightings and disappearances do not cease to be reported. Those lost seem to return, and they are not happy about being forgotten and left to die.

As we celebrate Halloween, there will be a brand new event which will be ongoing for ten days. Details we'll leave to you, it's a bit of mystery for all old and new, this post should give you a clue or two.

We will also be doing a finale event on Halloween at the time mentioned above, there will be further details on the day.

"Seek out those who have experienced these stories in cities on Naboo, Tatooine, Corellia and Lok."

Unfortunately, we've run into some real-life issues in the last few days that have prevented us from finishing the testing of this screenplay and implementing it. This regrettably means the start of the event will be delayed by an undetermined number of days.

We will do everything we can to minimize the delay. Once we establish an accurate start date, we will update the original post with accurate dates.

EDIT: We now expect this event to go live on Saturday, 23-October. Apologies for the missed start date. I ended up being a roadblock when I ran into some unanticipated challenges while testing the event code.

This is now live on Basilisk, the event team and devs supporting them put a lot of time in on this, I hope everyone enjoys it.

I'm sorry we missed the original launch date, my work life is quite dynamic, and I didn't realize it would require a reboot of Basilisk so they couldn't go live while I was offline.

How do you start this or take part ?

I have seen the Spooky instances at the Star Ports, but have no idea what I need to do, who to speak to etc ?

I'm guessing the Star Port Spooky displays will be spawn points for the finale, but im wandering around lost atm trying to find out what to do :/

There are npcs to start it in the locations mentioned, they will have quest marker over their head. I can't take too much of the mystery out of this, but that's what our original clue gives ya, so look closely and explore, you have 9 days remaining so take your time.

    That was fun, thanks!

I'm a little torn on there being no items... on one hand I'd have loved some candy or pumpkins or something as a memory, but on the other hand I was happy to do the quests once and not be overwhelmed by the compulsive need to do it 10 times, once per toon.
