the little kids who cried for jedi as a starting profession arent still playing .. they have SHORT attention spans .. they all played wow for a little bit , now theyre either in tor beta or waiting for BF3 ..

I played several games, including WoW after NGE came out because it made me quit instantly. For more than a year now I had given up on all MMO's ever being good again.
I used to look forward to TOR....but then I got a TOR beta....and played that for 10 hours before quitting (Can anyone say WoW-Clone with a star wars skin?) SWG Pre-CU is the ONLY MMO game I think I'd ever pay for simply because its the only one that is any good.

The one good thing about me playing TOR is that it made me want to see how SWGEmu was coming along after the last few years...and I'm loving it.

I'm so glad I looked at SWGEmu because otherwise I'd be stuck with no star-wars fix and no mmo fix.

While I agree SWG is a great game and they have one of the best crafting systems and is immensely fun to play. I would not say it is the only one that is any good there exists a game that believe it or not did not "NGE" their game to make it more anything but fun and immersive.

Final Fantasy XI online was and will always be one of my favorite MMO's to play i spent a lot of time playing both that and SWG and have loved them both for a long time.

So while i will agree that most mmo are replicated garbage designed to suck money out of our pockets for no more reason than to make gaming business money. SWG and FFXI I feel stand apart from that. I will admit that they sere designed to get our money but i think we feel less cheated because we got a quality product in exchange.

I Dont really post on any forums but i played the game till a couple months ago for the crafting alone. Yes it was a dumbed down game but find me another game with such an indepth crafting system.

Agreed - in WoW the market would be flooded with identical crafted items - in SWG you could have 50 crafted T21's (for example) with wildly different stats - the fact that there is varying quality of mats - rare looted componants - the ability of the crafter - CA's and just plain old luck - not to mention slicing for damage or speed meant the difference between a piece of crap - an average weapon - or the the ultimate amazing success with high value Krayt tissue and an amazing success damage slice! these weapons would sell for a kings ransom and rightly so as the chances of all these variables coming together on one weapon is almost the same as 2 HDD's failing at the same time

Hardware failure is a fact of life for datacenters, but I must say this particular datacenter has had quite a few failures with you guys in a short amount of time. It might be time for the Emu developers to take their money elsewhere. I'm sure it's a much bigger pain in the *** for them than for the testers & players.

I was not talking about Emu i hope Emu is around for ever .i ment we should be thankfull its only one day.(down time)

This pre-version has a future one we enjoy i ment the peeps who are on the none Emu who have no future after Dec 15th and as some have mentioned hopefully many will come to Emu they will find it in my view a very rewarding place.

Galaxies with many classes and skills keeps the game fresh long live Emu.

Is the Emu being hosted by a datacenter or have donations been used to purchase a good hot line (T1, etc)? If it's being hosted by a datacenter they should be performing regular maintainence and should have software in place to monitor all hardware including harddrives. I have harddrive monitoring software on my home pc and it has saved my "bacon" a couple time by alerting me to HD issues prior to a crash happening.

Not trying to second guess anyone. You guys are doing us all a favor by repairing sony's disaster and bringing back the best online game of all time. I am just curious. Yes I know the cat thing but curiosity always gets the best of me LOL!

Thanks for all the great work you folks have done and are doing. The communication from the Dev, and PR teams are great. Your not leaving us blind, your keeping us in the loop and thats awesome.
