you are correct, there is no reason anyone should be asking for vlada's resignation over the problems with Event policy that allowed the event in question to happen. in fact, he wasn't asked to. he choose to because he took responsibility upon himself for this. almost universally, the response has been that it was not his responsibility and his resignation was not a helpful or desired response to it.
most of the reaction to the event was stirred up by EC response to the questions about what had happened and how the policies allowed it. when SWGEmu staff respond to individuals and the playerbase with personal attacks and insults, there is no surprise that they get upset. really, this boils down to one individuals behavior and the issue that she is acting as an SWGEmu representative while while doing it. this is the only issue that remains unresolved.
and as far as the server getting wiped... this has been addressed many many times. even when the server is eventually wiped, the policies will still remain. if they remain static and do not change to reflect the growth of the server player base, allowing things like what happened to happen again... then it won't matter that the server was wiped. but this is no longer an issue. the policy has been updated.
most of the issues involved with these events have been resolved. please, lets not go backwards

we can each believe what we want and that's life...
you will believe high numbers when you see proof because you believe one witness.
i will believe low ones when i see proof because i believe another.
but if SWGEmu staff keep making assertions, then they can back them up. there is a way. the log. that simple.
luckily, you are not SWGEmu staff.
can i haz kittehhh??
