I have a question about when the login server goes down. If your character is performing a skill action, does the character still gain XP?
Whenever the login server has gone down for me my game tends to lose all connectivity to the server in general. Earlier today while I was performing, my character would stop flourishing and if I tried moving around he would be locked into a performing animation.

This is separate and is called a soft-disconnect. It happens quite often (every 30 minutes or so) in populated places and has nothing to do with the login server. You can see more info about this at the link below, and can also help fix it with some logs if you would like!

Depends. Dancing/playing? Yes and no; for the few seconds that the character remains in the world, you'll get the idle dance/music experience, then disappears and no longer get exp. It just saves your skill animation state when you log in again, but it only counts the exp during those few seconds after disconnecting. The login server and game servers are separate though, if you disconnect from the game due to instability it just means you have to go through the login server again.
There is no value of time really, it merely depends on how many people/NPCs are around the player in loading distance that can cause the connection to desync and be severed. Time merely statistically points towards more of those disconnects, but simply level musician/dancer/etc in an unpopulated area for less disconnects.
Host pings are coming back positive, should be able to log in now, but no update on the status yet so length of stability is unknown.

ya know what the forums need is an app that determines what region we are in... like for instance a post says 2300 actually be 2300 by the logger. so if anyone thats not living in idk texas it would show up as something else.. that be neat....
example being unrelevant to forum. but it kinda bugs me when i get porn err sext invitations from sites that are 1200 miles from me. such as altona.. anyone? heh. regardless.. i think i should get appropriate times when something was posted... js..

Is this alteration path permanent? Or could I just wait it out without having to alter any files?
DNS should have propagated by now, but it looks like it still hasn't, im trying to find out why.
soo.. server status says theres over 1300 ppl on Bas... am i the only one still not getting past loginserver?
Hi newbie here, just curious to see if the was a wipe involved in the login server change over aswell, my char is missing :S anyways love being back on swg just not sure if i should keep at it![]()
ignore that last post, im a fool i had two accounts and logged on to the wrong one lol :P
No you aren't the only one, I can't log in either. Haven't been able to log in sense the big change the other day. I have done everything the directions told me to even delete the game and reloaded. I'm not crying and I'm not complaining so don't start the BS flaming.
It works, just make sure that you aren't using the launchpad because that will change the server name back to nova. Once you change the file, just use the SWGEmu.exe and you will be fine. Its been working great unless I forget and hit the launchpad again. If I do that, I have to go back and change the file again.
