serious note, i actually look forward to the "wipe". i have never played SWG from ground zero. it would be nice....even if for only a day to be on the level as everyone else in th game :-) Bring on the wipe.

Remember these folks have jobs and families to deal with too, so it's possible the weekend is their own time to really get any work done on the servers aside from the random code they have to check and put up throughout the week.

Also complete speculation as I don't know for sure, but I would guess this database snapshot is for them to test a basilisk merge sandbox as a milestone to apply the next merge. Database dumps/backups take some time..It sucks but it's better than them applying a merge to basilisk ("production server") and it breaks and they have to wipe it right?

True but there will be a wipe anyway, so it's delaying the inevitable :P Id rather it take longer and be done right then it be half arsed tho.
