TC: Nova and Liberator upgrade 02/14/11
Exciting news! We are continuing the upgrade of our service networks. In the next step we are upgrading TC: Nova and Liberator to a more powerful machine.
Here is brief a summary of what is happening: - TC: Nova and Liberator are being moved to a new machine in Denver, Colorado
- The SWGEmu Website, Forum and SWGEmu Database and our IRC server will remain as they were.
These changes mean a number of things: Firstly, our TC: Nova and Liberator performance will improve due to much faster hardware. This may not be noticeable at first, however in the long run it will make a difference. Rubber-banding should be decreased substantially. This will also make sure Liberator can stay up for much longer periods of time and will also give us a chance to accommodate a lot more players (This however might require upgrading the line to 1Gbps dedicated).
Secondly, many people have contacted us regarding the frequent periods of lag and even cut outs of our Forum and other SWGEmu websites. We hope that with this upgrade and the reduction of Liberator and TC: Nova downtimes, these forum and website issues will be reduced to a minimum.
When is this going to happen: This was scheduled to happen on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 9AM Eastern.
TC:Nova and Liberator will experience a short period of downtime (24 hours max). The downtime will allow us to move TC: Nova and Liberator to the new machine and have it tested and ready.
Unfortunately today, at around 7AM Eastern time, we received info that our host hasn't even started working on the hardware upgrade. We can not say with any amount of certainty when the actual upgrade will begin or how long will it take to finish it. As of this moment there is no ETA.
We apologize for this delay and for any inconvenience it may have caused you.
PLEASE NOTE: To do all this a database wipe will not be necessary, all your characters, items, credits, XP, etc will be saved.
