Server downtime 10/18/11

I think I'm addicted to this game. I been checking the website almost an hour upon every hour. My hands shake when im about to find out the server status. Then get depressed when i find out. I havent really felt like this since I first started SWG long time ago and no other game does this to me.

I would have thought if the new code was at the same or better state than lib, it would make sense to use this instead of the old code.

however, could this be done and new features / updates added without the need for character wipes.

another thought would be use the new code without wipes as lib is now I.e. as is with updates on the test centre not on the 'playable' server. would be a great way to give the code a big test

What does a DEVELOPER have to say on all of this. Not really caring anymore about the no eta,no new information stuff. You can only get so full from very little after so long. No disrespect to vlada or ellysia at all. Both very good involved team members.

55 users browsing now (35 members, 20 guests), obviously this server status thing is big. I can admit I am addicted to this game. Best pet game out there, best skill system, best character creation system, most customizable character system ever. I quit Ultima Online after running my own server for 5 years because THIS game was the best ever conceived, until SOE decided they hate us!
And so we wait, pretending to be patient waiting for the servers to come back up, and wondering if there is anything we, the players, can do to help?

This is what DEVELOPER told me:

SSD is fine, Liberator code is fine, Berkley database too. Devs are trying to recover mysql with the all char info that was on the raid that crashed.

it was not just one HDD that died we actually lost two of them. That complicates things... A LOT.

i just visualized my armorsmith, rifleman, entertainer, and smuggler just vanishing while yelling "Nooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!"
