heres my theory...
condition (1) every major data center in the U.S. has hardware monitoring services on their servers....
condition (2) Every data center has 24/7 staff to handle events of server failure, whether that be off site admining or on call paging or any combination of the 2....
condition (3) our server is in an actual data center in denver...
condition (4) our server resides in TA's basement...
condition (5) hard drive crash or hardware fails...
condition (6) server would have had data recovery already or hardware replaced...
condition (7) we need to find a new data center...
now for the equations...
if 1,2,3 = true
then 4 = false
and 5 = 6
and 7 = false
then server downtime =< 24 hrs
if 1,3,5 = true
then 7 = true
if 4,5 = true
then server downtime > 24 hrs
and 7 = true
if 3 = false
and 4,5 = true
then 7 = true
my personal beliefs are...
1,2,4,5,7 = true
6 = not an option due to 4 = true
3 = false (else 6 = true) server downtime > 24 hrs
just sayin....
