Come join the SWGEmu Staff celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of Star Wars Galaxies.

Empire day is the anniversary of the day that Emperor Palpatine declared the transition of the Galactic Republic to the First Galactic Empire and is often used to tout the might of the Empire by its Governors and Moffs across the galaxy. Rumors swirl through Bestine and Theed that both cities are preparing for the possibilities of important speakers to kick off festivities.


In some circles the day has other connotations, and has been adopted as a somber reminder of those lost in the Galactic Civil War on ravaged and destroyed worlds. Remember Alderaan!

As we celebrate SWG's 20th birthday, there will be event which will be ongoing for ten days. Some might remember it, and some may not. This following should give you a hint or two either way.

Decoration Event - First Galactic Home Showcase


When: Starting Tuesday, June 13th, 2023 till Friday, June 23rd, 2023

Come join the SWGEmu Staff for a fun event for those who make our homes shine with creativity.


We are proud to announce the Galactic Home Showcase, a galaxy wide decoration contest where one and all can see, visit, and be amazed by the greatest and most creative homes across the galaxy! Our first instance of the Showcase will feature guest judge Mobyus1, as he will be assisting us in selecting the winners of this competition.


The rules for this competition are the following:


Entries must be submitted from the date of this message until Friday June 23rd , at which point the judges will evaluate the entries and announce the winners at Empire Day (06/26/2023)!


Entries will be categorized by the size and style of the building. There will be three categories:
-Small Tier, which includes all Small-style homes.
-Mid Tier, which includes Medium- and Large-style homes.
-Large Tier, which includes Cantinas, Hospitals, and Player Association Halls.

Homes will be scoring by three judges through the following, Theming, Item Creativity, and Overall Aesthetic. Each judge will have awards 1-5 for each category for a total score from 3-15 per entries . Staff members are ineligible to enter.

An award will be given for each category. We ask that you title your response with the designer or decorator who designed the interior of the home, a set of at least three screenshots, and the location of the structure (Planet and coordinates). Please make sure these houses are Public so that both the judges and other players can visit and enjoy your wonderful abodes.

Han Solo, the maverick Captain of the infamous Millennium Falcon is throwing a bash after winning the jackpot at the Talusian Casino in, but the owners are not exactly happy and the Hutts are coming to collect on their debts, new and old.

Visions of the Past, Dreams of the Future

When: December 6th, 2022 to December 16th, 2022



Where:​ Your task starts on Naboo for those wishing to aid the Rebellion and on Corellia for those who sympathize with the Empire.









Come join the SWGEmu Staff in one of our first new quest events, which helps celebrate the milestone of the project servers passing SWG Live's lifespan.




Times are turbulent since the destruction of the Death Star. Vast floating debris of the wreckage hang in the orbit of Yavin Prime. Those who've visited Yavin IV have seen the artificial rings circling this gas giant, the remnants streaking across its atmosphere, sometimes even impacting on the moon. However, not everything is what it seems. Larger portions of the rubble have been spotted on the moon in recent days, the attention of both the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance to this sudden opportunity.

Each have dispatched recovery teams to Yavin IV with haste to discover what information and salvage there is to be had. Both teams are seeking those interested in assisting with this salvage.

Basilisk's Requiem



Event When: Friday, November 11th, 2022 at 12pm PDT/3pm EDT/8pm UTC (Check your time here)



Event Where: Basilisk Server, Various Planets



The time has come to close the doors on a server that helped, time and time again, move our project ever forward. Basilisk was the first play/test server to fully run the Object Restructure branch, which was a foundational restructure of Core3. Basilisk started with very minimal features, replacing the Liberator server as the primary server for us here at SWGEmu and now comes to an end as a nearly complete Pre-CU SWG experience.


Many memories were made, within the community and staff, throughout the years that Basilisk has been online. It has provided bountiful information that attributes to the stability of the code base to this day, while giving a enjoyable play experience that we all so dearly missed from the Pre-CU days of live. We can now turn our full focus on Finalizer and that goal of 1.0, that continues to move closer each day.


Join us at the event for the final goodbye to all the great memories on Basilisk.
