You must own an original Star Wars Galaxies client, using illegal copies such as, Torrent, Warez or a 14 day trial clients is against the rules.
1. This program can't start because MSVCP 100.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
- SWGEmu Launchpad requires Visual C++ 2010 to be installed. Most new operating systems already have it instilled, but if you get that error you need to download and install Visual C++ 2010 x86
2. Crash as soon as I hit the play button.
- If your operating system is Vista or Windows 7, Windows 8 or 8.1 are you running LPE and/or swgemu.exe as an administrator?
- Does your game screen resolution match your native desktop screen resolution?
- Is your directX up to date?
- Are your drivers up to date?
- Did you try Full Scan?
- Download this: https://www.swgemu.com/swgemu/downloa...onfigFiles.rar and extract everything except swgemu_login.cfg in to your SWGEmu folder (replace the existing files).
3. Cannot type numbers in login screen
- Completely restart your client.
- Type your user name and password in notepad or word and copy/paste them in game.
4. Getting an error about launcher not being able to find three files one being .dll
- Is it your first try or does the problem persists?
- Did you try full repair from LPE?
- Download this: https://www.swgemu.com/swgemu/downloa...dllpackage.zip and extract it in to your SWGEmu game clinet folder
5. Direct 3D cannot be properly initialized error message
- Does your game screen resolution match your native desktop screen resolution?
- Did you try Full Scan?
- Is your directX up to date?
- Reinstall your Video card drivers (www.nvidia.com, www.amd.com)
6. Resolution locked to 1024/768 or isnt correct
- Go to SWGEmu folder, find options.cfg file, open it with notepad, and enter the correct screen resolution.
- Remove the options.cfg file, restart SWGEmu Launchpad and go to Game Settings and set the correct game screen resolution in graphics tab
- If you have Nvidia 8800, 9600, 9800 video card, go from LPE to Game Options, Graphics tab and change your Vertex/Pixel Shader Version to 1.4
- Download and reinstall all of your drivers
9. authentication required error
- Here are a few things you can try:
- You may also want to run windows update and get your system fully up to date. Update NETframework, directX, video drivers etc.
- Go to My Computer, open properties of your C:\ partition, see in the security tab if you have all the permissions if not change them to get all of them.
- Double check your Windows Firewall, Firewall, anti-virus.
- Press SHIFT+ALT
- Restart your client completely
- Restart your computer
- Reset your keymap
- Disable the Windows shortcut for keyboard language change
11. After I click play game freezes and i get a black screen. I needed to start the Windows Task Manager to tell the program to stop running.
- Go to SWGEmu folder, find and remove the options.cfg file and restart SWGEmu Launchpad and go to Game Settings and set the correct game screen resolution in graphics tab
- SWGEmu Launchpad→Game Settings→ Advanced tab → uncheck "Disable texture baking"
- All UDP ports between 44452-44463
- Find options.cfg file in the SWGEmu folder on your computer. Edit this file with Notepad and change the line useHardwareMouseCursor=1 to useHardwareMouseCursor=0
15. No radial menu
- Reset keymaps
16. Video card issue - losing vertices
- Go into add/remove programs, uninstall AMD Catalyst from there and restart your computer
- This means you have lost connection to the server. Pressing SHIFT+ESC will bring up a prompt that will allow you to disconnect. This will put you back at the character creation screen. Select your character and click next. You should be able to get back ingame. If this doesn't work, try exiting SWGEmu and logging back in. If this doesn't work, the server is down, please try again later.
18. I occasionally get disconnected, where my chat stops working and I can't see other players chat.
- This is a common bug right now with the emulator. This means you have lost connection to the server.
19. Once I get in game, everything is very dark and black.
- This is caused by an out-dated DLL file. You will need to download the dpvs.dll file and place it in your SWGEmu directory. Try a complete repair from LPE.
20. When I try to start SWGEmu, I'm told I am missing a DLL file called dpvs.dll.
- Some anti-virus applications like Trend Micro report this file as malware and tend to either block or quarantine it. It is a false positive and a file that is necessary. In order to avoid or fix this dpvs.dll needs to be added to anti-virus exceptions.
20. My client crashes to desktop and I get a text file in my SWGEmu that says "SWGEmu.exe-stage.111212-2006" "FATAL 82674e4e"
- This means you are missing some or all of the patch files. Try a complete Full Scan from SWGEmu Launchpad
21. My client crashes to desktop and I get a text file in my SWGEmu that says "SWGEmu.exe-stage.111212-2006" "FATAL 4d962776"
- This is caused by your shortcut to SWGEmu.exe being incorrect.
- Go to Settings→Options and check if the SWGEmu folder location are correct.
- Try updating your video card drivers.
- Hit the ALT button a couple of times before you hit ENTER and it won't go into fullscreen
- Also fix your full screen setting to the max of your monitor, that way the clients wont crash
24. SWGEmu_r stopped working; SWGEmu.exe: stage.119798; unknown location : FATAL 67f5f079: file write failed for profiles/*Username* /*Server Name*/4968505409557_friend_data.iff
- If there is an empty space between your username and backslash like: ...username /... you need contact support, chances are your account wasnt created properly and you will need a new one.
- Copy everything from all your CD's to a single folder on your HDD and run the install from there.
- Try making an ISO image of your CD's and using that to install SWG client
- Use software that extracts data from damaged CD's (ISOBuster is a good example)
- Try to find someone that can resurface your CD's (used to be easy to find, now not so much)
- If all else fails, there are cheap sets of SWG CD's on e-bay
- Go to Game Settings→Sound tab and make sure that "Disable Audio" box isn't checked.
- Run the game and in the in game options (ctrl+O default), Sound tab, top of the window just under "Sound Options", make sure that "Enable Sound" box is marked.
- If you have a discrete sound card you might want to check in the game options if the correct one is selected.
- You also might want to check (if you are running Vista or Win7) speaker icon in the system tray, open it and press 'mixer", then check (while SWGEmu client is running) if maybe sound is muted in there
- Check your miles folder in the SWGEmu directory, might want to replace it. miles.zip
- A Full Scan with the SWGEmu Launchpad shouldld download missing the missing *.dll files
- Download this *.dll package https://www.swgemu.com/swgemu/downloa...dllpackage.zip and extract mss32.dll into your SWGEmu folder.
Please note, this is still work in progress so it is to be expected that things will be added or edited from time to time.
