Bounty Hunter FAQ by Tardyn, MBH

(Reposted by Ackis with permission, grammar added by Ge'i)

I know you all have seen these tutorials for bounty hunter and just laughed so I'm going to tell you how to really do it.

First step: Once you get novice bounty hunter, I suggest you learn novice CH too, because it is a must for bounty missions.

Once you've accomplished that, run missions out of Coronet. The informant you need is less then 10m away from the terminal, so just keep cycling through missions until you find one that is near a city. With your lightning cannon equipped, you get better missions. Repeat this until you have enough XP to learn Investigation 1 and 2 at the same time. If you just learn 1 your droids will fail or get destroyed when they try to find your target.

After you've learned investigation 1 and 2 its time to begin the next phase of your long road to bounty hunterdom in Kaadara, Naboo. Once in Kaadara, the mission terminals are right outside the star port. Get your missions and head north, toward the theater, and near the entrance you will find you informant.

Now that you have investigation 2 your missions get a little harder and require you to use droids, and you'll need two kinds: Arakyd probe droids and Seeker droids. When you talk to your informant they will give you a bio signature for your bounty. Head out of town and from your datapad, call an arakyd droid. You may get a message saying that you cannot call it; in this case, you're too close to town and need to head further out. When the droid comes crashing down, put the bio signature into it on the radial menu and it will take off. 5-10 minutes later the droid will come back and tell you what planet your target is on; head to that planet. If you can hop a shuttle to Theed in between the time you launch your droid and it tells you what planet, do so, so you can leave immediately.

Unlike the novice level missions, your target is on the move and will always head to a city. Once you arrive on your planet, launch your seeker droid (arakyds are used to find out what planet, seekers track you target once your on the planet) amd after a few minutes, a new waypoint will be created. Make sure you create a waypoint right by it. Once your droid loses track of you target launch another. When it updates this time you will be able to tell what direction your target is heading. If this is unclear, try drawing an imaginary line from the first waypoint, to the second waypoint, and onward. The line should intersect with a city.

Hop the shuttle to that city and launch a droid and repeat launching until you find your target. This is basically the process for the rest of your investigation XP, but once you get investigation 3 you only need one seeker droid because you will be able to track you target instead of just finding its last known position.

There really is no fast way to get bounty hunter XP, but if you want to get it fast and you're in a guild, learn novice ranger and go up the wayfaring tree. With cammo kits on you, NPCs will not attack you unless you attack them. Since you have Investigation 2, you can slice Bounty Hunter terminals in opposing faction bases. (ie: If you're a rebel, slice the ones in Imperial bases) If you're in a guild, this is good because all you need to do is put camo kits on the people that are with you, and kill any players guarding the base. Once you get Investigation 4, your informant is still in Kaadara but, south of the starport and east of the med center, right by the cloning facility.

Invest 4 is goes really fast cause they updated the pay and xp on those missions but you can fly through these if you do 5 a day. At this rate, you can get it in a week, more or less. The most important part about getting master bounty hunter is going out and buying a nice pair of hot pink short shorts and just run around wearing nothing but those and sporting your title.

On one final note, macros will help you take down your target faster. For example, start out with your knockdown shots, then switch to pistol and finish him off with your lightning cannon, and don't forget to send in you pet. With master Bounty Hunter, you have enough skills left to be able to call a level 45 pet if you go 3-4-0-0 in Creature Handler. Once you get there, see your local Bio-engineer, and get some tissues that effect taming wild and vicious creatures, and you can be accompanied while in your hot pink hot pants by a gnarled rancor.

Investigation is the slowest part to master bounty hunter. There are not many tricks to getting it faster, but the following info may be useful: For Investigation 1 & 2 use the BH terminal in Coronet. I prefer Tyrena. The spynet operative is about 10-15 m away from the terminal, and the terminal is between the capitol and 2 fountains. Take missions with a max range of 600m...That will keep you within Coronet. Do not train until you have 10k xp of investigation.

If you have any questions and you're on scylla just send me a tell, Namhell master bounty hunter, CH 3-4-0-0, and master of the timeless art of seduction. (Ge'i notes: You can also send a /tell if you're NOT on Scylla, by using /tell sylla.Namhell)
