The Journey of a thousand camps begins with a single click :P

Let me begin by stating for the record that I believe using a macro is NOT an exploit. Anything that CAN be macro'd using this simple of a macro language, SHOULD be macro'd. Why do I believe this? I play this game to PLAY the game, not to be a monkey double-clicking a camp every half hour. They have a positively fantastic game here, but unfortunately there are parts I still find dull *cough* double-clicking camp kits *cough*.

Now, if camping required methodically building the camp from scratch (think small-scale CAD), tending the fire, finding an ideal location shielded from the elements, etc. THEN I could see it being worth my time (And I am sure the devs would have loved to make it this way! But it's that pesky time/budget thing again). Unfortunately camping as it stands is an artificial way to extend the time it takes to become good at something. And personally, I find it mind-numbing.

That being said, here is a way to get yourself some serious survival EXP while "off the clock" So you can get out there and have some real fun roleplaying, completing missions, getting faction points, doing the monthly story line... PLAYING this positively fantastic game!

STEP 1: Make 23 Camp kits. If I could macro this, I would :)
STEP 2: Make a new macro with the following text (I called it Campmaster :P):

STEP 3: In an empty, two-row toolbar menu, place the Campmaster in the upper left slot.
STEP 4: Place a camp in each each of the 23 remaining slots.
STEP 5: Click the macro when you are ready to go!
STEP 6: Read, chat with your friends, spec out your dream character, whatever. Just don't leave your computer for an extended period because that is technically against the rules (even though I don't agree with it). I personally am reading Dracula and chatting with friends in-game (not to mention writing this post).
STEP 7: Every so often (at least every 23 hours) come back and fill up your slots with more camp kits. No need to restart the macro.

Added benefits:

If you want to stop the macro, just remove the macro icon from the slot. No waiting necessary.

If your camp times out and auto-disbands early (some huge group decided to come hang out and heal). You have at most only a couple of minutes before a new camp is up!

The macro will never end unless you stop it (it is recursive), and it has not timed out my session yet (I think it is the ui actions).

This macro takes a little over 68 min to run camp disbands after 60 so it worked well as a workaround to not being able to get a disband camp command to work. Here it is it repeats the sample section 10 times (I know i could have split this to 2 or 3 macros and chained them but oh well copy paste was my friend.) Also it cycles through all 24 spots on my 3rd toolbar as all i load there is whatever I macroing in this case camp kits I had it loop all 24 every time as it will only alow you to set 1 camp at a time this was built in because I noticed if lag was high some camps would get skipped. First guys go get get into a Voritor hunter Group on Dant. All you do is Harvest,, takes two hours to get 4040 , then take that hide minus from 12k and get your figure's now with the remaining number buy that man hides grab you a crafting macro and knock it out ,, it takes around 12k hide and around 5k bone. there you go you have 4044,, then go to Talus to the lost city of durban,, it is on your poi,, go and pet on the porch and start throwing lepercene darts at the panthers ,, and there you go 6 hours and you are master scout 4444 Later pain   0 Replies

I found disbanding the camp manually after about 20 minutes still netted me max exp without waiting for the camp to despawn itself. Camping Macro Posted @ Sun, Apr 4th 1:38 AM 2004 By: Oneebo 1 posts Score: Decent [3.00] The original camping macro listed did not work the way it is shown.  I had to change each line to eliminate the space between "toolbarSlot" and ##, with ## being the toolbar key number. So each line looked like: /ui action toolbarSlot01; /pause 5; Of course, the slot number changes with each line, but the important thing is that untill I removed the space, the macro didn't work. Also, I tried to use the /ui action targetAtCursor; 2; without success. There are two problems I can see: First, the command will bring up the rasial on the camp dealybob by the tent IF your mouse cursor is over it, but instead of invoking the 2nd option on the radial (disband), my character simply says "2". Secondly, if you have your character stand and sit during the camping macro, you may find that he moves his position slightly each time he gets up and sits back down again. Since your character is always centered on the screen, it causes everything else to shift. Once that happens, your mouse is no longer over the target and the command won't work. If anyone has been able to successfully disband their camp using a command line, I'd really like to know how they did it. Oneebo   0 Replies

How to disband a camp with a macro... Posted @ Mon, Mar 22nd 3:18 AM 2004 By: LennyU 1 posts Score: Excellent [5.00] ...u can.. despite what people belive disband a camp using a macro... using the targetAtCursor ui command. this is what I did..... well first off I read above that people were leaving there camps up for 30 min.. maybe it's different server to server.. but when i leave my camps up for 30min i get 350 xp.. and the same with 15 min.. so i did 15 min... first of all create a camp and move the camera so it's looking basically straight down at it (this is so no animals or anything are in your view pane)... then hit alt to change the cursor to the arror and put it on the sign for your camp that u click to disband it.. it's important that the mouse doesn't move while you are AFK... I have a laptop with a touch pad and a  mouse so i just unplug the mouse and use the touch pad to put the cursor where it needs to be.. and walk away... if the mouse moves the macro won't work... then u execute the macro.. either by putting it in your toolbar and hitting the Fkey for it.. or by typing /macro MacroName the macro is pretty long and might need to be broken into pieces... for this macro i had a toolbar panel with F1-F12 all camps... /ui action toolbarSlot00; /pause 200; /whisper Hey I'm camping here.. feel free to use it if u want; /pause 200; /whisper Hey I'm camping here.. feel free to use it if u want; /pause 200; /whisper Hey I'm camping here.. feel free to use it if u want; /pause 200; /whisper Hey I'm camping here.. feel free to use it if u want; /pause 200; /whisper Hey I'm camping here.. feel free to use it if u want; /ui action targetAtCursor; 2; ...that will open the camp in toolbarslot00 (F1) and pause for a little over 15 minutes...in addition it'll say the line of text above every few seconds to keep the system thinking you are active. Then it will automatically disband the camp (as long as your cursor is over the sign).. then all u have to do is do all that again and replace toolbarSlot00 with 01...02... and so on for all the camps u want to do... as i said before u probably will need to use more than one macro to fit it all... but when the new camp pops up amazingly enough the sign is in the exact same spot and ur mouse cursor will still be in the right spot to disband it again... completly AFK camping macro... enjoy   1 Reply

First off the lines shoud be written like this: /ui action toolbarSlot01   ad so on. Second: every fifth line or so add somethign liek stand or /say something. In mine i said "macro camping, if you could run through the camp on your way past it would really help. Thanks". I found tat i had LOADS of people visiting my camp. Third: place your camp in a major traffic lane. I used the bid bridge south of thees starport. Camp right at the base of the ramp. Anyone going over the bridge has to go through your camp and you get many more visitors! And Finally: The camps xp maxes out at 15 minutes. Thsi macro is good to leave ging over night for example but if you are able to, it s better to manually disband your cmaps every 15 mintues or so. Just makes the whole thing faster. I am currently on camping 3 and have been goign for two days. Plus i work full time.   0 Replies

A small addition to the camp macro! Well what i would do is (the danger here is being overt) put a faction soldier out and set its 3 waypoints to walk 1 in teh cnter of my camp and the other 2 just outside it on opposite sides. have the soldier walk the waypoint and you auto follow on it. That way your entering and exiting LOTS! just make sure the waypoints are close together so your soldier pritty much makes you put the camp in the same place when it exspires. Just a thaught after all going overt is dangerous, but their are places in the Galaxy where you can get away with being overt and afk. Takes a little while, but alot faaster than this macro... guess you have to be there though..
