    1.A. Intro
    2.A. Healing Macro
    2.B. Healing Macro Code
    3.A. Finding the guy in need of a heal
    3.B. Follow button code
    4.A. Helping in the battle
    4.B. Assist button
    5.A. Conclusion

    1.A. Well I am a macro person and use them very extensively. So I have made up a healing toolbar that I use just for when I am on a hunt. This toolbar has all my basic commands, like sit, stand, my special weapon attacks, and so on. I am going to focus on just a few macros and how I use them during a group battle. I wrote this guide for the medics out there grinding their way up to an elite profession and those who picked up medic as a secondary or back up skill. Many things will change, as you become more advanced than just what the basic medic profession offers you.

    2.A. Well the first problem I ran into was watching and keeping up on heals for when the timer would let me heal again. So first off I made a healing macro that loops. So I just target a player in need of a heal, hit the macro and it will continue to heal them till you change your target or you stop the macro. I can heal every 9 seconds, but that time will change depending on what level you are in diagnostics. Well here is the code for my looping healing macro:

    2.B. /healdamage; /pause 9; /ui action toolbarSlot10;

    I placed this macro on the F11 slot on my tool bar. If you want to stop this loop you can type /dump. For more info on macros check out my guide: Macros Made Easy. It was suggested to me that you also make a macro for healing your self /healself. You can't heal others if you are dead. I also set up a looping macro for wound healing with a 31-second pause for when I am in a camp or medcenter. I have a backpack that I keep all my medical supplies in. When I need to heal, I put the stims that I need into my inventory. So when I hit /healdamage the stims in the inventory get used. When I am on a hunt I move all my best stims into my inventory, while I am in the cantina grinding for exp I move all my crappy stims into my inventory.

    3.A. Well the second big problem I ran into was finding the guy who is in need of the heal. I don't have any ranged healing and the hunting party doesn't come to me when they need a heal. So I set up a macro with the /follow command so I can get to them easy.

    3.B. /follow

    I have yet to find a good way of targeting my group members easily. So I stretch out the group bar and leave my mouse unlocked (hit alt once so mouselook is off). If there are more group members than I can see with a fully stretched bar I try to keep the bar over the ones whom need healing the most often. If you have that many in a group you should have at least 2 healers to cover them all anyway. It is possible to use (Ctrl + # of group member) to target group members, but that only works for 10 group members. Plus you have to remember what position is what number, I miss allot doing it this way. So now when you see someone in need of healing, Click their name press your /follow macro and hit your healing macro if you don't have it running already. Then you will run right too then with out having to search for them. This works well when you're all stopped fighting. If you're running and attacking this system doesn't work very well.

    4.A. Now if you want to take part in the fighting you should pick someone you can trust a bit. Don't pick someone who shoots at anything that moves. Pick someone who only attacks targets with the group. Also note that if you're in combat and you try to heal as the same time they can interfere with each other. Now when you see this player start attacking, target them and hit your /assist button. Then you will start attacking what ever he is. The target your attacking is going to be different from whom your healing, so continue doing your heals and you will keep shooting till your target is dead. Doing all these tasks makes this process very tricky to do all at once, at least for me. You should also make a /peace button incase you start getting the agro, we would hate to see the medic go down.

    4.B. /assist

    5.A. Now I made a macro /dump to stop my looping macros, mostly I use it for when there are no heals needed. I also made a /stopfollow button for when I am not running from player to player healing. As you become a Doctor or a Combat Medic you gain other abilities in the way of healing, but as a novice medic I found this to be an effective way of lending an hand on heals and getting some nice medic exp on a hunt. This system isn't perfect, it can be a pain when you need to heal someone quick and your macros timer is between heals. I guess these macros got me past the stage of fumbling around trying to get heals off as fast as I could while worrying about finding all the different people In need of a heal. Hope this helps some medics out there. Please post suggestions, comments, and typos below. I will fix and add to this as needed.

        I'm a CH, and as a CH you may need to heal a Droid, yourself, your partner (if you have one) and up to three pets. If you are in groupchat mode, and need to issue commands to the pets, you will sometimes get frustrated issuing the commands, only to see them in the chat window and others snickering at you because they all know you goofed.

        I like to use aliases.  They are fast to make on the fly, and you can re-use them, edit them, change them , delete them and so on. An alias for healing yourself would include the command (I have not tried this, because I just saw the command) "/healself". You might also want to let others in your group know you are healing yourself (promote better communication) I made an alias as follows:

        /alias /hm /healself;/say Healing myself

        Then all you need to do is type "/hm" and hit return to heal yourself. You can try this real quickly, and if it does not work, use my other old standby:

        /alias /hm /healDamage Gnarley;/say Healing Gnarley

        For the pets, you should get some pet stims because they also heal their mind damage as well as the health and the action. You will need to put a stim on the function key (say F11) then you can use this alias (and you can copy this directly from here and paste onto your command line).

        /alias /hp /target (petname);/follow;/ui action toolbarSlot10;/say healing petname;/ui action cycleTargetPrev;/pause 1;/stopfollow

      How do you make a macro that's like the healdamageself macro but instead have it heal say another player?  example: Say you have 2 people you want to heal instead of having to target them each with the mouse how can you make a macro that will /healdamage target"Person'sName". Then hit another macro that will target another person and then heal them. How can this be done? Can it be done? I want to do this without having to be grouped with them. Thanks and please post.

        So, you're a doctor, and want to sit in the med center and keep switching between the patients.  Am i close? I can't help you with the not being grouped part, but here's how to do it grouped.

        Ok... Warning in advance, I'm typing this without trying it first, but it should work.

        First, both of these other people must be in your group. Second, you need to figure out which groupmember they are (1,2,3,...). Remember that the computer counts starting at 0, so your ctrl-1 character is targetGroup0, ctrl-2 is targetGroup1, ... ctrl-0 is targetGroup9. Let's assume that you can target the two people you're trying to heal with ctrl-1 and ctrl-2.

        We'll do a complete walkthough since a lot of people on these boards are still asking how to start to make macros.

        Click ctrl-A to get your action screen.
        Go to the Macro tab and hit new macro

        (Name:twopersonheal)
        (pick an icon)

        (in the bottom "macro text" box)
        /ui action targetGroup0;
        /healDamage;
        /pause 10;
        /ui action targetGroup1;
        /healdamage;
        /pause 10;
        /ui action toolbarSlot 00;

        (end of macro)

        Hit the ok button, and you now have a new macro in your actions pane. Drag that up to the first slot of your toolbar. Now, whenever you click the button, you will target the first PC, heal them, wait until you can heal again, target the second PC, heal them, etc. THIS MACRO WILL KEEP GOING UNTIL YOU TYPE /dump!!!

        If anyone really wants to learn how to make macros, read "Macros Made easy" by Grimble, and then "How to Load a Macro Text File" by Applejack. Make sure you read all the comments! That's where most of the good information is, and also where you'll find new "ui action" commands. So far, no one has posted a complete list of these commands, although there are constantly calls for it. In the future, I will post as many as I know.

      By using the Cntrl+2,3,4 etc to target group members to heal, you can heal them without changing the target you are fighting. You stay targeted on the enemy for battle but heal the group member. Of course this only works for members 2-9 and yourself (cntrl+1) but it's a start.

      As many are already aware, there are several processes you need to know to be able to effectively heal and fight at the same time.  For example, if you try to heal some one while you have your combat que full, it will be quite some time before you can actually heal them. I'm haven't tried this yet, but you could do the following:

      (Going to use F5-F8, so that's slots 04-07)

      F5: Emergancy Assistance (use while the person you want to heal is selected)
      /peace; (if there is a command to clear the que, like /clear; use that)
      /follow;
      /dump; (just in case you had a loop running on another patient)
      /ui action toolbarSlot05

      F6: Healing Loop
      /ui action toolbarSlot 06; /pause 9; /ui action toolbarSlot05;

      F7: Place you med of choice here. (I don't like /healdamage since I want to use the stim I have loaded.)

      F8: Stop Healing
      /dump;
      /stopfollow;

      ok, so the run down. Select a target, usualy best to use the party list. Press F5. You'll stop fighting, run to your patient, and begin a healing loop. The loop will use your stim of choice (so you wont use a weak stim when you need to be using the strongest you have). When your target is well, you use F8 to stop healing, which will both break the loop, and takes you off follow.

      This guide is made for the novice medics. Or do you mean I am a novice at being a medic? SOE missed the part about having a system to heal your group easy. So this is the best I could do with what I have been given. I have made a few changes to make it clearer that this is for the novice medic and I added a little about the Ctrl + # command. Thank you everyone for your comments.

        You can put a tell to yourself in a macro so that you know when your loop is through.  I have a macro that runs a heal five times and then stops, and when it finishes, it alerts me.

        /healdamage;
        /pause 5;
        /healdamage;
        /pause 5;
        /healdamage;
        /pause 5;
        /healdamage;
        /pause 5;
        /healdamage;
        /pause 5;
        /tell [yourname] Healing done!

        I left the last pause in before the /tell so that I don't have to wait to hit the macro again, I can smack the macro key and it will start up again instantly, without giving me a 'You must wait...'

        Does anyone know where we can find a complete list of /ui commands? I have seen some amazing macros made with them and would like to be able to know and build more.
