  • Recording In-Game Videos

    1) Download the Fraps program from this link.

Note: Unless you register the program you will only be able to record thirty seconds of footage at a time. Also, a banner will be displayed along the top of the video until the program is registered.

    2) Once Fraps is installed double click it's icon to activate it. From here you are given a few choices such as the size and resolution of the video, whether or not sound is to be recorded, etc. Note that files are, by default, saved to the FRAP folder and are in .AVI format.

    3) Once your preferences have been set minimize Fraps and run Star Wars Galaxies as you normally would. Make sure that the Fraps icon (a monitor with yellow numerals on its corner) is displayed in your system tray).

    4) Once you are in-game you should notice a few numbers in top-left corner of the screen. These numbers represent your FPS (Frames Per Second or Framerate) that Fraps has determined you are running at.

    5) When you are ready to begin recording your video simply press the "F9" key. To confirm the Fraps is recording make sure that the FPS gauge in the top-left corner is displayed in red. If it is displayed in yellow then Fraps is still idle and therefore is not recording. To stop recording simply push "F9" again.

    6) When you are finished with the game simply exit out and open the Fraps folder to find your videos. From here you can either leave them as they are or you can use a program such as Windows Movie Maker to edit them. Have fun!
