Tymm's Guide to PA Halls
Ok, so you have a PA Hall deed in your hands. This guide is all about what to do with that deed once you have it.
Placing
Step 1. Place the deed. PA Halls are subject to the same build rules that all buildings are. No placement within 1 km of a city, require flat terrain. PA Halls take up a large amount of space, so you'll need to find a nice, level area to place it. Once you've found a spot, double click on the deed to bring up the structure placement screen. You'll be able to drag an outline of the PA Hall around the nearby terrain, looking for the outline to turn green, which means you can (hopefully) place your Hall there. Right clicking will allow you to rotate the structure. Remember, the end of the building with the two giant pillars is the front end.
Structure Management
The first thing you'll likely want to do once your PA Hall is placed and done building (5 minute build time) is head to the structure management terminal. In Corellian Guild Halls, this is found near a stairwell on the left side of the building. This terminal acts very similarly to the structure management terminal in any other building. It allows you the following menu options:
Structure Permissions - Allows you to set up the Administrator, Vendor, Entry, and Ban lists for the Hall.
Structure Management - Allows you to do the following:
Status - Shows the structure owner, tresury (maintenance pool), private / public status, maintenance rate, and number of items in the building.
Destroy structure - self explanatory.
Pay Maintenance - PA halls take 3200 credits per day for upkeep.
Declare Residence - You can declare the PA Hall as your primary residence, if you like.
Privacy - Set your hall to public or private. Public would let anyone enter your PA Hall, member or not.
Name Structure - Your PA will probably not appreciate it if you have your hall named your house. You can use this feature to change the Hall's name to something more appropriate, like "The CONSORTIUM Headquarters."
Withdraw Maintenance - Allows you to use your maintenance pool (Treasury) as a guild bank account. This command will let anyone with admin rights withdraw money from the maintenance pool.
Guild Management
Once you've set up your structure management, you can go about inviting your first members. By now, you probably have a bunch of guildmates lined up on the front steps, begging to get in. (I know I did ). The Guild Management terminal, which is found on the opposite side of the building from the Structure Management terminal, can be used to name your guild and manage your member roster. This terminal allows you access to the following menu options:
Guild Management
Guild Information - Shows your guild name, abbreviation, leader, and member total.
Guild Enemies - The interface screen that allows you to declare war with other PA's, and accept declarations of war.
Disband Guild - Self explanatory.
Change Guild Name - Lets you choose a new name for the guild, after picking the original name.
Name Guild - Only shows up after the Guild is first created. You can give your guild it's name, anything from 1-25 characters (and "The" will automatically be added before your name). You can also give it a nickname, a 1-5 character abbreviation. This name will show up after all member's names, such as "Tymm Hunt (TCON)."
Member Management
Sponsor for Membership - The first step in admitting a member is to sponsor them. Use this feature to nominate anyone who is within a certain distance of the PA Hall (not sure of the exact range). The sponsored member will get a message box that says "Tymm Hunt has invited you to join The CONSORTIUM. Do you accept?" Click on "yes" to accept the nomination, "no" to decline.
Sponsored for Membership - This allows you to view a list of everyone who has accepted a guild nomination. The guild leader can then select a person's name, and run the final acceptance of that person into the guild (they will have the option to "Accept" or "Decline" a nomination). If the leader accepts, you're allowed access to the guild hall and given the guild tag.
Guild Members - The master list of guild members. Selecting someone's name from the list gives you more options:
Set Allegiance - Any member can set their allegiance to another member. This is used for voting purposes... the person with the most allegiance every week will become the guild leader.
Set Title - Allows you to give a member any title you wish.
Kick - Kicks a member out of the guild.
Change Permissions - Allows you to set unique permissions for that member. These permissions are: Mail (presumably can mass mail to all members), Sponsor (can sponsor someone for membership), Title (can set member titles), Accept (can accept/decline sponsored members), Kick (can kick members), War (can declare guild war), Change Guild Name (can change the guild's name), and Disband Guild (can disband the guild).
