Jedi have been long asking for the currently unused color crystals of all colors named after famous Jedi masters so they won't be forced to choose between a crystal of the color they like or a crystal that does more elemental damage (regular color crystals add 25% elemental damage to the damage of the saber, while named color crystals like Sunrider's Destiny and Bane's Heart add 30% elemental damage to the damage of the saber). They were hoping for the nice, blue Kenobi's Legacy color Crystal in the expansion named after Obi-Wan Kenobi, but got only a lava lamp-like crystal who's place in the Star Wars universe is disputed instead. Another thing that Jedi have been asking for are krayt dragon pearls and crystals with all the quality ratings that were lootable pre-CU and the developers have stated that they were looking for a good way to reintroduce them to the game. Also, Jedi have been lacking real content, especially since the Force Ranking System has been removed.
+There is a relatively simple solution to all these problems. As we know, Trials of Obi-Wan will introduce the Chu-Gon Dar Cube, which can transform three items into one other item with the help of the Force. Seeing as storyline-wise it is using the Force to create items via set recipes, it wouldn't be far fetched at all if it would also produce things like Force crystals.
-Put 3 regular color crystals (adding 25% elemental damage to the lightsaber) of the same color in the Chu-Gon Dar Cube to yield a named color crystal (adding 30% elemental damage to the lightsaber) of the same color. Possible recipes: 3x blue color crystal =>Horn’s Future (blue named color crystal) 3x dark blue color crystal => Kenobi's Legacy (dark blue named color crystal) 3x light green color crystal =>Kit’s Ferocity (light green named color crystal) 3x dark green color crystal =>Qui-gon's Devotion (dark green named color crystal) 3x light purple color crystal =>Bane’s Heart (pinkish purple named color crystal, also lootable from Necrosis) 3x dark purple crystal =>Windu's Guile (deep purple named color crystal) 3x red color crystal =>Maul's Vengeance (red named color crystal) 3x dark red color crystal =>Kun’s blood (dark red named color crystal) 3x yellow color crystal =>B’nar’s Sacrifice (yellow named color crystal) 3x dark yellow color crystal =>Ulic’s Redemption (dark yellow named color crystal) 3x orange yellow color crystal =>Bondara’s Folly (orange named color crystal) 3x brown color crystal =>Quintessence of the Force
-Put combinations of 3 different regular color crystals (adding 25% elemental damage to the lightsaber) into the Chu-Gon Dar Cube to get a named color crystals (adding 30% elemental damage to the lightsaber) of different color variations. Possible recipes: 1x dark green crystal + 1x blue crystal + 1x dark blue crystal =>Sunrider's Destiny (teal color crystal, also a quest reward in Aurilia) 1x dark green crystal + 1x light green crystal + 1x blue crystal =>Dawn of Dagobah (greenish-blue color crystal) 1x light purple crystal + 1x dark purple crystal + 1x blue crystal =>Gallia’s Intuition (pink color crystal) 1x yellow color crystal + 1x dark yellow color crystal + 1x orange color crystal =>Prowess of Plo Koon 1x light purple color crystal + 1x blue color crystal + 1x dark blue color crystal =>Mundi’s Response 1x blue color crystal + 2x dark blue color crystal =>Strength of Luminaria 2x blue color crystal + 1x dark blue color crystal =>Baas’ Wisdom (1x orange color crystal + 1x yellow color crystal + 1x red color crystal =>Lava color crystal (also obtainable via quest/loot))
- Put three of a lower quality rating damage crystals into the Chu-Gon Dar Cube to get one of a higher quality rating. Possible recipes: 3x fair damage crystal =>good damage crystal 3x good damage crystal =>quality damage crystal 3x quality damage crystal =>select damage crystal 3x select damage crystal =>premium damage crystal 3x premium damage crystal =>flawless damage crystal
- Put three of a lower quality rating krayt dragon pearl into the Chu-Gon Dar Cube to get one of a higher quality rating. Possible recipes: 3x fair krayt dragon pearl =>good krayt dragon pearl 3x good krayt dragon pearl =>quality krayt dragon pearl 3x quality krayt dragon pearl =>select krayt dragon pearl 3x select krayt dragon pearl =>premium krayt dragon pearl 3x premium krayt dragon pearl =>flawless krayt dragon pearl
+ In addition to the aforementioned Chu-Gon Dar Cube recipes, change the certification requirement for all (former) FRS robes (they all have the same skill modifiers anyway) to Jedi Padawan and allow Jedi to choose from a list of all models when meditating at a force shrine. This would finally allow Jedi to be more diverse, with an option of many different looks in addition to the looted cloaks that come with the expansion.
Granted, the above wouldn't fix all the Jedi issues, besides fixing the pearl and crystal problem as well as providing much needed content. However, these little things could be done to let those devoted Jedi players and those striving to be - long time veterans and newer players alike - know you care about them as well as make them happy and keep their loyality in the future.
Besides that, it would give all those Jedi and the ones striving to be Jedi a really good reason to get a Chu-Gon Dar Cube and thus buy the expansion, as well as keep them busy for a long time.
Positives: +Much needed content for Jedi, without detracting from the needs of the rest of the game or other profession at all +Choice of saber color without sacrificing competitiveness +Wonderful way to reintroduce premium and flawless pearls/crystals +Wonderful way to introduce all unused named color crystals +Diversity in appearance through free choice of Jedi robes and color crystals +Makes the game interesting +More accessible loot, yet still hard enough to collect +Puts and end to the ridiculous price gouging in auctions, thus improve the game's economy by deflating inflated prices to a tolerable level +Balances all different saber color users +Does not unbalance Jedi compared to regular combat characters (as tests with perfect sabers on Testcenter2 during the TOOW beta have undeniably proven) +Makes players happy +Makes use of existing game mechanics and items allowing comparably easy and fast implementation +Encourages Jedi players to stay with SWG (Here comes the money!) +Encourages Jedi players that weren't planning to buy the expansion to change their mind and buy it (Money talks!)
I love this idea! It resolves the crystal/pearl situation and (FINALLY) adds in the named color crystals. Plus, it would give Jedi some much needed content while not detracting from the needs of the rest of the game or other profession at all.
Good job, Glzmo... now if only it could get implemented...
C'mon devs, if you care at all about this game you've got to do something to at least make it somewhat desirable to play Jedi again (all flames aside). I think the ToOW Beta really helped to prove that even Jedi with Lightsabers filled with perfectly tuned Flawless Pearls are still no more powerful than a normal full combat template... Droves of players are leaving the game because, frankly, the implementation of Jedi sucks. Time to start doing something about it...

When are you going to POST the "Guide"... MEOW (It is me, LESTAT Blackbird from BETA).....
But yeah, this is a GOOD Idea, HOWEVER with the Flooding of S.Fire, it may not be a GOOD time
NASA Committee Member: Mr. Farmer, how do we know you aren't constructing a WMD?
Charles Farmer: Sir, if I was building a weapon of mass destruction, you wouldn't be able to find it.

I suppose plagiarism is the highest form of flattery.
When I saw how similar this cube was to the Horadric Cube in Diablo I made the suggestion on the Beta Forums to use it on saber components.
Gizmo this was not your idea, and you should not take credit for the saber component portion of the idea in your above post. The colored crystal aspect and cloaks were something you came up on your own.
Anyone who still has access to the Beta forums feel free to verify the dates of our posts.

Do glowing items only drop on Mustafar?
Have people looked for any on the bosses off world?
Have other non glowing items that currently drop on live severs been tried? Pearls, crystals etc.
Just thinking back to the way the Horadric Cube worked in Diablo it might be worth dropping 3 good pearls in to see if it made a quality pearl.

Here is a list of some of the things I was hoping to see from the Expansion. Some of them are quest related, some are skill related. I know that an expansion typically centers around content, but since we are recieving both new content and skill changes I see no harm in posting my want list for both.
1. The ability for people to obtain premium saber components. The cube is a great way to implement these items. Three poor = one fair, three fair = one good, three good = one quality, three quality = one select, three select = one premium, three premium = one flawless. Have all pearls/crystals above good (assuming that nothing above the rating of good will drop) be non trade items. This would keep the market for pearls/crystals on the lower end, while allowing individual players access to the higher rated saber components over time.
2. A looted item that acts as a container for Powers specific loot components. When combined the container and components would act as enhancers to a Wielders damage, SAC, speed, and FC.
3. A system of balance that does not create a high number of "must have" skills. We have 30 plus professions available, and it is a shame to see everyone running around playing one or two variations of the same one.
4. Implementation of a new FRS that is fun and appealing but does not offer work arounds to gaining accelerated rank.
5. Enable general ranged speed to work with Jedi ranged specials. Add general ranged speed and force ranged speed to the appropriate boxes in the skill trees.
6. Remove defenses vs force powers in Defender and Enhancer. Increasing the Wielders damage to compensate for the additional defenses would merely create imbalances for Wielders vs non Jedi. One reason the Animal Control skills were removed from the Wielders skill set is because they completely negated the CH profession versus a Wielder. The additional Jedi defenses specifically designed to negate Force Wielder damage have the same impact in JvJ encounters.
7. Instanced quests and dungeons. Waiting on a spawn timer is not fun. Having multiple parties try to out damage one another always leaves a loser.
8. An opt out option for Jedi that do not want to pvp. I personally feel that these people that want to play Jedi but do not want to pvp should have the ability to opt out. However in doing so I also feel that they should have lesser strength than those who do choose to pvp.
