but when people wanna say, u instead of you just to cut down on typing theres no problem with that,
Cut down on typing...some people do it all the time, even in their spam macros. It should be common courtesy to write things out at least when not in combat.
i can't believe anyone would care enough to complain about it really,
I do, it is very acclimatic. I also know many others who think like me as well.
write your vision on how to fix the jedi problem
I have already done so back in August. Here is a link that leads to a link to this and other visions:
I have thought about that but haven't been able to come up with a good enough idea yet, so I haven't posted it. Perhaps I will do so later. When I post it, you will be able to find it in the link above.
not some words that people type differently to save time when time is short.
Most people that type that way will type that way mostly when they have plenty of time as well. I don't see this as a valid counter argument for the word filter.
Glzmo, changing the numbers around makes a lot of the responses to your original post seem odd. I've changed mine to reflect those changes, but others may not. Was that wise?
(And yes, I see why you did it, because people might be put off by the illegality idea and not even consider reading on.)
Finish typing your words, don't grind on the park rails, and pull your freaking pants up!
Dang kids.

The more I read your posts and learn of your visions Glzmo, the more I'm liking you. SOE needs to hire you. I give my endoresment right now, here in public.
I'd like to see something chilvalrous and noble as a way of ending pvp, with not doing it resulting in a 24 hour ban. For example, the winner should be required to /kowtow or /deepbow to acknowledge the opponent and maybe say some warrior poet words of wisdom, such as "You fought admirably and courageously fallen one, may the scribes write tales of you that befit your noble status as a very worthy opponent."
One can only hope right? Better than Lewk Groundwalker saying "Woot, u suxxor, I roxxor".

only problem is that when i roleplay my rodian, and he speaks basic, he doesnt speak it fluently. so instead of "the", i rather type "da" "you", "ya" and so on. and if i get killed for not "being able" to speak proper basic, then im against it. if not, then im all for it though.

Yes but there's a big difference between RPing a limited ability to speak basic and "i r |_|b3r l337 u got pwned".
People WILL speak how they want, no matter what you do. So let them do that, and let us enjoy the roleplaying aspect of this game. After all, it is a roleplaying game.
I LOVE this idea. Addignore works, but this is better. I totally support this idea.

That sucks dude.....You have no right to say that the way people speek is wrong, or it ruins gameplay....I was 100% with you on your FRS idea, but this is rediculous.....Leet speek isent offensive, and I know plenty of mature people who use it out of jest, or just sometimes for fun....who are you to deny them that?

Just think of it this way...
Can you imagine Darth Vader turning to Obi-Wan's "dead" cloak in A New Hope and saying, "pwned."? I don't think so.

Not to mention, the client side filter doesn't stop ANYONE from typing like purile morons should they choose to. It simply allows the readers of said putresence the ability to shift it slightly to something more in character.
It seems like a pretty solid no harm, no foul kind of idea to me.
I agree with the first part, disagree strongly with the second part. A very small percentage of players role play in this game...the second suggestion would force them to change their communication style to conform to a role-play vision. This would be the wrong thing to do.
Role players should not have their game spoiled by leeters, but nor should role-players dictate any game or it's mechanics. The first item suggested is the best option IMHO.
