Guide to Geonosian Loot Usefulness (For the Packrats)
Note: This is being posted in the Naritus forum and linked to from the Items & Loot forum.

Introduction
If you spend any amount of time at the geo caves, you'll find your inventory fills up extremely fast with loot.  Most of the stuff you will get is in very low demand (relics, sword cores, etc), though some select items are always useful.  This guide will outline the relative usefulness of the various Geo Cave specific loot items.

I have used a 1 to 5 star rating system to rank the loot drops.  This is based on usefulness and demand, but does not give a good indication of the relative value of the items.  For info on pricing, please refer to your galaxy trade forum.

Please feel free to critique my rankings, and point out any loot that I may have overlooked.  I am a Weaponsmith, thus I am not the best judge on armor-specific loot.  I will consider feedback and adjust the rankings as a general consensus on usefulness is reached.

just a thought...

Reinforced Sword cores are of no importance almost 99.99% of the time. Because they replace the same crafting slot as the Acklay Bone, even the best of Reinforced sword cores are surpassed easily by Base Acklay Bones.

Acklay bones replace reinforcement cores, not sword cores. Basically Acklay Bones can be used for the "blunt" weapons, stuns hammers gaffis. They cannot be used for Scythes or cleavers. Not a flame, just a clarification

I actually use at least as many Geo Reinforcement Core schems as I do the Sword Schems. I use most of my mismatched yellow cubes & agents to make Power Hammers. With base loot, my geo r-cores come out to 41-61 damage. The completed hammers are (assuming all great experimentation) only 4 points shy of a base Acklay's max damage, but are .6 sec faster and have range modifiers 11-14 points better.

Also, I've been hearing that the Droidecka down there are dropping green & red cubes in lots of larger than 7. I have yet to see a set in my hands, but if true, these cube sets would be very valuable for making 6 or more scythes from a single schematic. Given that a base scythe with a good slice will have better stats than a great scythe with a poor slice, more rolls of the slicers dice is always a good thing.

I will say this.

I dont think giving white/red cubes a 1 star is appropriate.  why? because they CAN drop in sets of 9+.

while a 335 max scythe is nice, it is a pain to sometimes get 2 sets to produce 4 scythes from the schematic.  making 6 scythes from a schem allows you to produce more items.  while yes, they will be base around 315 max, with the scarcity of scythe schems, it really begs the question on making 4, or 6 from a schem.  some people would be happy with 6 made, others want to try to get that elusive dmg slice.

Updated to reflect the new sets of 9 cubes (getting 2 extra scythes per schematic REALLY helps us keep our prices down.)  Also evened out the usefulness of the geo reinforcement core to match the geo sword core because I totally agree on Geo power hammers.  They're a great, low cost alternative to acklay hammers for the non-speed capped swordsman.

If anyone could comment on Acklay hides, that'd be a great help.  How helpful is this when crafting padded armor?

They changed something.  I have killed 100's of droidekas and never, ever looted even ONE yellow.  well tonite, i looted multiple sets of yellows, including a set of 9.  i think that any set of 9 isnt bad.  however, with the changes, sets of 9 yellow are possible and it does diminish the desire for the red/white/green sets of 9.
