Even with the Tusken rifle in my main inventory, Huff would not talk to me until I had completed a quest with the Static guard waiting just outside the estate's front door. This seems to be a new quest not listed in the Mission's details above. I needed to complete this new one before Huff would talk to me.
Huff Darklighter's Guard says, "Well, I'll be! This is Huff's grandfather's gun, initials and all! I don't know how you got it back fr- unless...hey - ummm... I mean - Hey, that's great! Ummmmm... Mr Darklighter has a job that we can't do for him right now. Do you think you can take these important documents to a contact for us?"
You say, "Why did you stutter a momment ago?"
Huff Darklighter's Guard says, "Oh... I... um... have this problem, you see. I'm umm... not good with talking to people and when you brought this gun back, I was so overjoyed that Huff will be pleased that I umm... uh, where was I? Oh, yea, I stuttered when I thought you worked for er.. I mean, wanted to work for Huff. So, are you going to take this te- do this or not?"
You say, "Sure, Ill take them."
Huff Darklighter's Guard says, "Good! Ok, look. These are important blueprints, passcodes, and bank account numbers for the Darklighter estate. I'll need you to take these to a friend of Mr. Darklighter's whose waiting for them. Jabba would love these plans, but we trust you. Make sure the good guy -er- right guy gets them, ok?"
You say, "Yes."
'Delivery Guy' (contact's name): "Do you have the super secret documents? Yes, these are the documents. Hey, will you look at that... you never opened them, good. Well, glad to meet ya, friend. I'll let Huff know that we can trust you after all. You passed the test. Head back to Huff's guard so he can let you in."
Huff Darklighter's Guard says, "You need to show him that you are the kind of guy that he can trust, which is no easy task. Maybe if you can get him his grandpappy's gun that was stolen a while back, he might listen. Last we heard, it was sold to some gun-runner on Naboo."
Finish quest details from the Waypoint screen: "I got word already, sorry to have put you through that, but I thought you were working for the Hutts. I hope you can understand our need for this test. Anyways, thank you for the gun. I've let Huff know that you checked out, and he want's to thank you as well."
This was a simple delivery mission with no spawned opposition. A ledger was placed in my main inventory at begining of the mission, so make sure you have room. Ledger was deleted from my inventory upon completion of mission.
Waypoint was generated 458m from mission start & objective was at assigned wp the first time I attempted mission.
After this new mission, I drag & dropped the rifle on Huff. At this point I had a problem with it not recognizing I had completed the guard's mission, so Huff thought I was still working for someone else (The guard's 'return to mission start to complete quest' wp had not gone away when I finished it). When he asked if I wanted to work for him instead of whoever else I had been, I said I would work for him. At this point, the leftover wp from the guard went away and I was able to get Huff's quest going.
