I got into a heated debate with this one guy. At first he was nice asking about getting the armor etc, but then for some reason he seemed to snap heh.
He asked who all can wear the armor and I told him, but he refused to accept it and went on to call me various names. I remained calm and cool simply suggesting he must have read it wrong somewhere. Anyway I thought it was pretty funny so take a look.
Lol. Lightsaber damage. THat's awsome! I bet the head is the most vulnerable part .
Jango Fett: "Crap! I didn't notice my armor had vulnerability to lightsabers! I waisted all that time in the Death Watch Bunker for this crap? And I'm expected to hunt Jedis in this?" Mace Windu: "Your pathetic armor can not stop my saber!" Jango: "Ummm, can we talk this out?" Mace: "Nope." Jango: "But--" Mace: *Slices of Jango's head* Mace: "Going, going, gone! It's out of the park! Home run!" Jango: *Corpse falls to the ground* Mace: "Don't underestimate my armored Jedi Robe that I got in Publish 9."
Just a few comments on Mandalorian armor being of cortosis weave:
According to what I've heard, the armor is made of a cortosis weave, and can deflect lightsaber slashes. However, prolonged exposure to the force of a lightsaber could easily penetrate the armor (in other words, don't stand still ).
With Jango Fett being decapitated in Episode II by Mace Windu:
Apparently Mace was lucky enough to slash Fett at the neck, which is a weak point in the armor's design. Take a look at the Helmet screenshot; notice how the neck isn't solid, but instead cloth-ish? It's like that in order to retain the wearer's agility, allowing them to actually move their head around...
And, as a final comment, I'm not a Star Wars freak -- you wouldn't be hard pressed to find a living encyclopedia out there that knows more on the subject than I do .

Mandalorian armor can be sliced. The base stats are adjusted with the assumption that it will be sliced. Once you slice Mandalorian armor, it will have stats comparable to or better than most high-end composite.

shouldn't Mandalorian armor have some resists to lightsabers?
isn't that the whole point of the armor in the first place?

Also if you listen to the comentary on the DVD for AotC some one comments on how when Jango got trampled by the Reek his jetpack got damaged and if you watch closely when Mace charges at Jango smoke/fumes come out of the jetpack,
so Jango was trying to do a flying back peddle but his suit was damaged
As for Mandalorian armor being the best in the universe, their society was for all intensive purposes destroyed 5k years before the galatic empire. Im pretty sure if there was a gap in protective abilities the other cultures in the galaxy have had a chance to close it, Now getting your hands on a suit of Mandalorian Basalisk power armor....

Untrue unless they are removing layers from Composite, dropped enhancements,Sockets and adding vulnerbilities( Composite is only vulnerable to stun and lightsabre)

Sounds like you need a new armorsmith
Unless of course your refering to the comp armor that will be around after an armor rebalance, this Mando armor is nowhere near as good as even decent comp armor, much less high-end.
