It almost doesn't need an introduction... but I suggest that if you've *ever* thought to yourself "This is boring" in any video game... take a look at it. It's a great theory by someone within the industry.

Think of it this way. Before women had their rights and even for some time afterwards (in the US) the common public was considered 'man' not 'men and women' An example would be the constitution. so... man is general (besides. we still consider our populus in the scientific world to be homosapien or 'man') if that brings any form of comfort to your mind anyways
