We decided to push this publish back a week in order to balance and polish it, and based on your feedback that it was not ready. We also decided to try and totally open up communications with you about your hot issues, and try to give you fast and direct feedback. There is alot of discussion around these items now, so I am going to give you the cliff notes version to see where we really stand:

 

Green = We agree/ are changing this for you

Yellow = Still in development/ discussion

Red = Disagree/ can't happen for various reasons

 

1. XP loss

We will remove Ranked Jedi vs Ranked Jedi XP loss

2. Accuracy with a lightsaber

We are rebalancing this across the board

3. Worried about Lots    

            You will not be penalized for your lots 

4. Toughness vs. sabers issue

Fixed.

5. Defense Tree Changes

We are rebalancing this across the board. We are still considering other ways to make it more desirable.

6. Jedi want Meditation

Not going to happen

7. The voting terminal needs a timer

Will be fixed.

8. If you initiate a force power while still, you are then locked in place

            Currently exists for all classes in Live. 

9. Jedi want Counterattack

Work has been done. Evaluating this for balance.

10. 2 hand saber has no blocking animations

Will be fixed.

11. XP loss should have a decay timer. 

            Should be moot with XP Loss removal

 12. The skill points granted for the Apprentice box needs to be tweaked

            You got it

12b. When the conversion rates are tweaked, we want to see the chart. 

            When it is final we will post it.

13. Robes of all levels should have *some* sort of armor resists. 

You already have innate defenses, and we are going to cut all armor back in the Combat Balance.

14. Master Healing should be able to cure a firedot.

You got it.

15. Sabers made with exceptional pearls (-9 FC) for example are not returning exceptional components.

            We are doing the best we can on this.

16. Move Forcerun1 to Novice Enhancer, it really only adds some terrain negotiation and its silly that Jedi have none to begin with.

Not going to happen

17. Move healbattlefatigueself1 to Novice Healing Box

Not going to happen

18. Master Healing/Force Power need mods to +speed for their respective skills. 

            Moot point. These do exist within the FRS.

19. Force Sensitive skills are useless for Jedi. 

            Moot point. You have already passed this level of development by being Jedi.

20. The bonus damage against lower level mobs needs to work with the default auto-attack as well.  Low level Jedi can hardly do specials, so this is a catch-22 if only specials get the bonus.

We have boosted the lower end game.

21. Jedi cannot block melee attacks.

            As designed. We will revisit this after the accuracy rebalance occurs.

22. Polearm saber is superior to the other 2 sabers in everyway given the +100 speed rating at master.  This means that every Jedi will be using one for the most part.  Please bring the other 2 sabers up to par.

            As designed. They are all individual.

23. Saber block will block a hit but the state effect will still stick on  you.  Long standing bug that also effects other professions defense modifiers.

We are investigating this bug. 

24. Jedi should be able to wear a backpack.

            We would like this to happen as well... soon but not now.

25. The force power tree overall is weak, especially Force Choke

Balance tweaks are still constantly being made to all the Force Disciplines. 

26. Hooded Cloaks. 

No art time for this right now. 

27. Overall skill point requirements need to either be reduced or one tree collapsed. 

            Disagree.

28. Please change Culsion Inert Gas to any Inert Gas.  Some servers have not seen culsion spawn for 100+ days and many Jedi will not be able to craft sabers indefinately

            If there are issues with specific servers, we will address them

 

Final tally:

 

10 items: We agree/ are changing this for you

14 items: Still in development/ discussion

5 items: Disagree/ can't happen for various reasons

 

We really do want this to be a fantastic revamp. Please continue to give us your feedback on these, and all other issues.

11. Only applies to the FRS. Would you consider a cap for non-FRS Jedi that increases with relative power level? The idea is to prevent anyone from getting into a hole deep enough where recovery is highly improbable.
 
13. What *are* these innate defenses that make armor unecessary?

JustG, I like your answers much better than Thunderheart's. They are more straightforward and no bull$h!t.

What I would like to know, with hooded cloaks not coming, will you at least let us wear the regular tailor-made cloaks that are already in the game over Padawan robes and other robes that do not have cloaks so we can at least look and feel like Jedi? There surely would be no art that needed creation for this, as the tailor-made cloaks are already in the game.

Fantastic for Jedi, or for the other 90% of the players? It certainly will not be fantastic for us.

This is pretty fair guys.
 
Our biggest problem is NOT the blocking of melee attacks.
 
Its doing damage to stackers.
 
I think they are taking this in the right direction going down the accuracy road.

Thanks for the extra notes. Some questions on
Innate defenses:
 
What are the innate defenses?
Are they the same at all levels of jedi or do they
change?
How do the innate defenses work with other
defenses we can explicitly gain from skill trees?
 
On XP Loss:
 
this doesn't answer the problem with LD deaths and such. I believe that is why folks suggested some form of decay or the current system in place.

Point 11 is far from a moot point for me.  What about the low level jedi that has one line up to 4 and gets killed, therefore losing 200k?  There needs to be some kind of decay otherwise some people will find themselves in alot of trouble and will lack the skills to get themselves out of it this centuary.
 
Point 26 seems odd considering the pictures linked from the main SWG site page clearly showing hooded jedi using force skills.  Were these screen shots not real?
 
On a positive note, to decide to give us real communication is fantastic!
