Im tossing this out there. I don't think that it is a certain thing that actually unlocks the FSS. I think that on every thing you do you have a chance to unlock it. Say killing a pickett gives you say a .00045% of opening the slot. By switching professions you are trying different things that have different levels of chance to open the slot including the training.

So to make this clear think of it as a random die roll every time you get training, kill something, walk in to a town, or even craft something.  Maybe these are cumulative, so the chance of unlocking the slot increases with the number of professions mastered.( going from a 0.00045% after one profession to a 0.0065% after 4 professions.)

This would insure that everyone stumbled upon there FSS like they have been, but also made it possible for a casual gamer to "luck out" and get it too. Also hardcore gamers would be reward since the roled more often than the casual gamer.

If this holds true then doing anything in the game would allow the slot to open so badges, grouping, PvP, PVE, getting a new skill, getting a new rank, declaring residence would all have a chance of unlocking it. The more you do teh more chances.

SO what do you guys think?

Because thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

Posted this before but here it is again...

Its the SOE programmers that after you have done your two holocron proffesions (or something to make you pop up on an SOE admin screen) they look at your character. They see what you have done, where you have been maybe even what you have said. Then they decide if they are going to open up your FSS. Its not automatic!

I don't think the programmers would waste that kinda time. do you know how many people they'd have to review a day. I stand by my theory

ah, but it depends what and how much a person have to do to "pop up". The thing is I think the final decision is made by someone at SOE.

Maybe but I still thin that the programmers have better things to do than look into the accoutns of people mastering professions.

What better things do they have to do?

It certainly is not fixing the **edit**ing bugs in this game.

So because SOE said it isnt true that means its not true? If it is true they unlock the slot, do you really think they would admit it after all these months? Hey Gacey said he never killed those boys so he debunked it. Should have let him go huh?

a healthy dis-beleaf in the words of the devs is a good thing.

they won't lie, but they will mis-lead, so well that a bunch of idiots will tell you there impresion not the facts.

If it is decided by someone at Sony, that would be a form of a filter, thus ruining an organic system. Then again, being realistic - why would they have someone on a Customer Service team sit there and grant the slot? I think the theory is ridiculous, personally.

We Todd Did. Sound it out out loud.

He knew he was as good as gone, but gone was somewhere he really didn't mind going to.
Since his shuttle had crashed, many years had passed, and the pictures of his loved ones that he drew on the walls of the cave
had finally faded.
He put out his smoke, proceeded towards the lake, repeating to himself,
everything beautiful is far away.

Then why do they pick the people they do? We've seen exploiters, CSR "problem" customers and griefers all get the FSCS. Everything we've heard from SOE says that they want Jedi to be rare and they want to encourage a sort of ethical gameplay. Now from the Holocron junk we've got kill stealing, camping and a host of other EQ problems which we were promised wouldn't occur here.

I'm not saying this isn't the case, I'm just saying that it's contrary to the testimony we've gotten from SOE on the subject.

Give me a shadowed forest into which I might disappear.
Give me a terrible foe and stack the odds against me.
Give me friends and creatures with whom I can share my adventures, my losses and my gains.
Let the gales blow and the world be torn asunder but don't make me stand alone against the tempest.
