Thanks guys for the helpful advice.  Just a few things...

Regarding the post suggesting trying to create a new character on the odd chance I may have missed the Unlock message, well, I've thought of that and in fact each time I log in I always try to create a new character on Bria with my fingers crossed that somehow my slot has been opened.

Also, since Brawler is the only starting profession not yet mastered, I'm working as hard as I can to finish that one up.  I'm currently 4-3-3-0 in Brawler and I hope to have that finished my this evening.

I'm thinking that if Brawler doesn't do it for me I'm going to either 1) work my way as quickly as I can through Doctor and Combat Medic, or 2) give up all hope and kick myself for wasting so much tiime in vain.

At least I'll know that my last profession is an elite one if Brawler doesn't do it for me, but there are still like a dozen elites to choose from and it's so discouraging to even begin one knowing that the odds are VERY stacked against me that it will be the one needed.

Try master brawler... shouldn't take long if u get friends hunting high level using flame/bleeds and you get a couple of whacks in.

Things to try:

1. Visit every city

2. Since your last mastery was CH, try taming every creature you can...on every planet

3. Declare residence

4. Go visit Mos Taike and walk through the "field"

Dunno - not there myself - I still have yet to find a holo, so...my advice is worth, well, squat

Ok, just to update my information. Tonight I mastered Brawler, the only starting profession I had yet to complete.  I was really nervous and excited as I paid my 10k for the final training, and I kept my fingers crossed as I did it.  Unfortunately...nothing happened.  I waited for a few minutes, then even tried logging off and creating a new character on my server.  But of course this didn't work as well.  !0 professions mastered, 6 of which have been since my holocrons went silent.  I suppose that means I wasted countless hours mastering 6 professions which have done nothing to get me any closer to unlocking my slot other than to eliminate them from my "unmastered" list.  With 22 or so professions left that I haven't completed, I have to say that its kinda like trying to find a needle in a haystack.  I really wish there was some kind of system in place that would help give you some hint as to what your final profession is to be.  Otherwise, it seems like I'm facing the most unenjoyable task of trying to hit that final profession by continuting to master and drop professions over and over. 

I really feel like I have nothing to show at all for all the time and effort I've put into this game.  In fact, I'd have to say that its that thought that is more upsetting than the fact that I'm not a Jedi.  Well, I guess it just wasn't meant to be for me to become a Jedi.  Good luck to everyone and I hope your past to the force is more rewarding than mine has been.

Some of the most frequent professions on the FS list have been Master Doctor, Master Architect, and the same freqeuency of Weaponcrafter / Armorsmith.

I'd definitely say you need to master an elite crafting profession, you may want to do Architect first as even though it takes a boatload of resources, it provides the most xp per combine (unlike DE).

No.  SOE specifically stated that they will not cap the number of Jedi per server.

I believe it's just pure luck, and this person doesn't have much of it...like myself.
