On Monday April 5th we will be doing our final tally of the awarded Act 3 badges. This means that players will be able to affect the outcome of Act 3 up until very late on Sunday night.
After the tally on Monday the act will remain open until publish 8. This means that players will be able to collect their badges, even though we stop tracking the data, until publish 8 goes live. Publish 8 dates will be announced as it draws nearer.
1. They're always bugged, big time. I tried several times to go to a planet, spending 7000 credits for a round trip ticket, only to find that there's nobody at the waypoint. HUGE waste of time and money. I'm running out of cash, and wasting it on a wild goose chase. I only have 20,000 credits left, and this has hurt me, big time. (This also just happened to me when I tried to start Jabba's theme park this week, only to find the Tusken wouldn't spawn in the first mission!!!!!)
2. Way too hard. I thought this was supposed to be content that everyone could enjoy. Unless I've got tons of skills, or a group of people, forget it. And, if I don't form a group when the Act begins, there's no way to get a group later. They'll all have finished it, and won't be willing to help me through it. Most people seem to be able to get it done in no time, and I'm stuck trying to complete this stuff by myself. It sucks.
Why not make these Acts easy? You should WANT people to be able to complete these things. If I don't complete this act by the time you wrap it up, I probably won't participate in anymore acts. What would be the point? It would be like missing the third issue of a comic book. Sure, I could get issue four, but since I missed out on the third part, I wouldn't know what was going on.
I'm getting seriously disillusioned by this game. What little non-repetitive content is out there, is out of the casual player's reach. TH, Q, etc all know that I've been one of the longest supporters of this game. I was in Beta 1, long time poster before beta, etc.
I have no idea what you're talking about. Hard and buggy? Didn't see it. Finished the whole Act 3 in one day (Rebel). Had an assist by 2 others in the final mission. Then I assisted them in finishing thiers, a day later.
I'm a casual player, so my character isn't uber, at all. In fact, my character has more dance skills than anything. I do have my marksman rifle skills maxxed, but that's the best I've got.
You're not a casual player, apparently. With all the travel involved in completing an Act, you must have played for several hours to finish it in a day. I just don't have that time. Sometimes I can't play SWG for several days at a time, meanwhile, my whole PA finished the Act.
I'll grant you that. Here's my suggestion to you: Go to your galaxy's forum and make a post requesting help from others to complete Act 3. People will step forward and help you. They want it complete as much as you. Some of them will even pay air fare most likely.
As a rebel I thought I would have to miss the badge in order to let the imperials win.
Now I can get it anyway
Swiggy
why would a rebel want the imps to win?

Looking for fun...
I don't know what bspence's characters look like, but tend to agree. Actually another response said something about helping crafters through Act 3 which supports the point.
The current game design leaves crafting and entertainment focused characters out of most of the content. Because of skillpoint limitations, most crafters aren't going to have any more combat capability than a newbie even after they have been playing for many months.
For act 1 and act 2 you could buy what you needed to get the badge, but for Act 3 you have to kill for it. That means either getting a group that will do that for you, using another character instead of doing it yourself, or dropping part of your crafting template. The group option is rather humiliating, as others have to spend their time supporting someone almost worthless on the event.
If decent combat droids had been introduced and made available to non-combat characters, as had been expected, this problem would largely go away.
Spence, I missed out on Act 2 while I was rebuilding my characters, and then tried out Act 3. You don't have to miss out on what is going on. If you talk to a coordinator, they will send you to an Information Officer to fill you in on the entire backstory. I though that was exceptionally cool. It was like getting my own personal mission briefing.
Also, this is the end of the Cries of Alderaan story. Don't give up on the story arcs just because this one was difficult. I haven't finished it either. A new story arc should hopefully be coming out, and everyone will be able to get in on the ground floor.
Kurt, please. He has a valid point. These things are difficult for crafters/entertainers/casuals. He's here to share his view, and contribute to the game. Please don't demean him for this.
I think Pex's team is taking it to heart that crafters and entertainers want more content as well. The non-combat characters are a significant percentage of the population.
Let's see what he and his team produce over the coming months. I'm hoeful, and I trust that it will be quality work.
They've already indicated that some missions will be combat oriented, some won't. As for getting a group to do it with you - if you are in a PA and they won't help you out with your mission then you need to find a new PA.
I didn't see the same bugginess as you - but it is possible that people were killing the NPCs before you got there. Unfortunately that can happen.
<shrug> Some things will be for you and some won't. It could be said that the only renewable content in this game belongs to crafters and socialisers, and that more combat oriented content needs to be added. To each their own. FWIW, it only took a few hours start to finish - well within reach of the casual player.
