Thats why editing is so important. Theres no gap between the Vids and if your making a ore scripted one your fine anyways. For PvP and events etc you cna build up a alrge file collection of like 20 30 second vids then piece them together do they run without falter. its a very easy thing to do

Just register fraps. Doesn't cost much anyway. I created about 10 ingame movies now. It's fun to do it but it takes up a lot of time. The best is to use 2 accounts so you can film with one while the other does the actions. Else you always get the same camera angle. Windows movie maker is rather simple to use but is limited. When you use too much different movie parts it will sometimes say it is out of memory. Even with 2048 Mb (which i have). I wanted to create one movie once but had to cut it into 3 parts. All parts where around 10-15 mins after the cuts.
I only have 50 mb webspace i can use but i have some movies i want to share with my SWG collegues.
I got Trekwars Part III here which is 32MB and takes 10 mins
I see my FPS and it is yellow I press the F9 button to start recording and it turns red for a split second..
then back to yellow.
I open up the folder, (the default FRAPS) and do not see any of the recorded files
Im completely lost on this and there is little troubleshooting infor with the download or with the website
Any suggestions?
Hmmmmm, it should be mroe than a split second, it should stay red for 30secs. Go to your FRAPs folder and make sure that you have plenty of room etc. Or makes usre that the folder you are using is valid. It could be that its not saving becsaue theres not space etc or the FRAPs folder is **edit**ed up
Hope that helps

TrekWars part I (62 MB, 15 mins) TrekWars part II (30 MB, 8 mins)
Battle for Lianorm (70 MB and 40 MB versions, 9 mins)
Fishing Tutorial (47 MB, 6 mins)
Escape pod song (44 MB, 7 mins)
Speedracer (7 MB, 2 mins)
And Final (45 MB, 5 mins) (i created this movie when i tried to quit playing SWG.... i failed)
Can i upload these movies to somewhere? They are all good quailty.
Id use google video, not amazing quality but its free and un copmpleicated, only problem is that you have to wait a day or 2 until its verified. And it cant be full screened. But this is what i use

For those who have issues with the free version of FRAPS there is an alternative.
Windows Media Encoder is available on the Microsoft website. Easy to find with a search (though not so easy that I am about to go find the link right now ).
Pros:
Full access right from the get go
Free
Extreme power to adjust the recording settings
Handles other media you might have.
Cons:
Huge variability of settings means it is quite difficult to even reach an intermediate skill level (took me +12 hours of messing around)
Need other software to do editing (though basic editting to trim files is available in additional programs available)
I still have not figured out how to get rid of the mouse pointer over top of my game cursor
Some tips if you do decide to pick it up:
Don't use the default screen capture. Explore the options and manually enter a region of the screen you wish to record
Use custom compression settings. In there set your output movie dimensions to be equal to the input for your primary recording. You can resize it afterwards in a second encoding
Start on something small (like recording a game's opening video or credits). Once you find the settings that work then start on recording actual game time

Aye this is a gooden, also it may be something you could move onto after FRAPs once you get the idea, and theres no **editi**ing www.fraps.com at the top of the screen!!!!

quick question - is there anyway to get rid of the www.fraps.com at the top of the vid if you dont register, like in windows movie maker to edit it out? Hope this question doesnt sound too dumb

To edit it out, you would need to edit each frame of the film.
Another thing you could try is crop/trim the frame. There is a plug-in for virtualdub that will allow you to crop. virtualdub is free and that plug-in comes with the software. I'm not sure which plug-in, you'll have to search for it. That software can be found here: http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/

Yeah what she said, I think you can also do a over lay/border thingy so instead of www.fraps.com you could have say the film title over the top. I think you may be able to do it with window media player but dont count on it
