do the occasional items that drops with RE level not equal to cert level - ie, a T7 engine with RE level 3 and level 3 stats - do they always drop with those anomalous stats? And does a T7 RE3 engine end up giving you a T7 after you RE it? Or is the "lower" level considered the overriding mod on certs?
oh and tomo, this deserves linkitude in the "Reverse Engineering" links in the Pilot FAQ (ie Pilot FAQ -> Reverse Engineering -> third post with all the references)

Yes I am using vendor search to find stats on components. Thanks to all those people who have level 1 items at 999999999 credits on their vendors.
RE-ing items with a different RE level than their cert level... I have no idea what the resulting cert level is. I'd imagine it's the RE level when finished, mainly used for adding some awesome stats to RE'd gear. I can't confirm this though, only hope.
Tomo, the way you have weapons listed, is that by cert level or RE level? I've been listing by RE level, including for those items with lower/higher cert levels (and just making notes on those items with different levels).

The cert level for items whose RE level is different from their cert is dependent on which item goes in the tool first.
I don't think there's a single weapon that has a different RE level from its cert level, so that list should be good.
And I do plan on adding this to the FAQ.

For those few unique items that have different Cert and RE levels, the final item takes the Cert Level of the first item in the Tool.
Actually Tomo, I hate to say it... but I redid the weapons list. Yours didn't seem complete, or didn't have complete names. Like in the Level 8 weapons, there are only partial names, so it's harder to find RE Level 8 weapons.
Main reason I did this thread was to make it easier to find the RE level of component you are looking for. Basically you can look at this list, and say you need an RE level 7 reactor, so you look at the names here and just scroll down the list in game to find what you need.
Your list definately rocks though, would take way more ambition than I have to figure out what the bolts look like for each weapon.

Heh, that didn't occur to me. Some of those names were shorthand from when I was writing them down on scrap paper back in November or December. I've been meaning to get full versions for a while, but it looks like that work was just taken care of.
I do know a lot of the unknown ones offhand, though. The ones with question marks aren't 100% certain, but everything else is:
Corellian AG-2G Quad Laser Cannons - 10
Cygnus "Eradicator 1" Disruptor - 2?
Cygnus Elite Disruptor - 10
MandalMotors Advanced Annihilator - 9
MandalMotors Elite Annihilator - 10
MandalMotors Heavy Annihilator - 8
Rendili Fr13 Disruptor - 5?
Sienar Design Systems Experimental "Secret Ops" Blaster - 10
Sienar Design Systems Heavy Imperial Spc Forces Cannon - 8
Don't know about the new Kashyyyk reward ones, and one or two of those Sienars is too tricky to pin down.

Ok I've gone through and updated the lists, though the questionable ones I'm keeping as Unknown for the time being till we can get confirmation.
With that done, I'm now crosseyed from reading and flipping and typing all that stuff. Going to go try and do my two Ace Pilot missions. Who knows, maybe being crosseyed will make me fly better and complete em this time.

Soo that means that I can RE two level 10 capaciters together regardless of the RElvl being different? If so that would be very, very cool. Ive got a lvl 10 capaciter with like 3.5k mass because its a different RE level.

Actually, I think it works the other way around. I misunderstood your question. Ten level 10 items can only be Reverse Engineered together unless they all have an RE Lvl of 10. A level 10 Reactor with an RE Lvl of 10 and another with an RE Lvl of 4 cannot.
What I meant was if you put the Level 10 Reactor with the RE Lvl of 4 in with 3 other RE 4 Reactors, you would get either a new Level 10 Reactor or Level 4 Reactor, depending on what is first in the CAT. So you could have a Level 4 Reactor with Level 4 mass, but Level 10 energy output.

actually from what I've seen, the oddly-certed parts always have stats equivalent to the RE level...so a cert 10 RE 4 capacitor will have cert 4 capacitor stats. It always ends up that the higher cert level is a bad thing to be gotten rid of, not a good thing to preserve
