Do you think we need a poll on that one? I'll just go out on a limb here and say most people aren't satisfied.

Id pull that limb back in and try not to be such a smart azz. You know what this guy is sugesting, he wants you to take the player bases opinion into consideation when plannig new ''iconic'' content. thx

It's about time you went on the offensive told all the whiners, here's some cheese, **edit**, we made some errors, and we're working on it.
I myself am looking forward to more. I did hate the NGE when it came, dont get me wrong. You hosed Weaponsmiths with a roto-router. But yo uare working on it and shaping it up. Just add back some of the old need a crafter to make your uber loot and I'll be happier.
Also I would REALLY like to see some new space content. Majorly in the form of additional Ships. Lets work to a progressive approach to the ultimate goal of Capitols Starships
Start with Gunboats. you have them all coded. just reskin the Rebel Gunboat to be different (incom t42). Make it a MAJOR hard series of space quests to get the schem, and then make the part scehms for it come from faction recruiters for major points. (add some neutral "recruiters" as you have re enabled faction for them on ground, just enable Nym and jabbas faction (and so forth) in space)
Once that is stable go to Frigates, you have 2 in gmae already. Just skin the Dreadnought for the imps.
Then advance to Capitols onc ethat is all stablized.

All due respect, but Pub. 27 was originally scheduled for what I believe was originally called an "Entertainer Revamp". This was then pushed back to Pub. 28 so that, we thought, you could put more effort into it to do a better job. What we seem to be getting is just the addition of combat skills.
What about bug fixes both long standing and due to recent game changes that Entertainers have been asking for?
What about new songs, dances, instruments, props, ID options, or entertainer inspired clothing or other items?
What about enhancing the role of the Entertainer profession in the game through Entertainer and not generic combat skills?
What about the addition of Entertainer content or at least improved tools to help us create more of our own content?
What is the future of Entertainer in the game and when might we see it happen? (There is no mention of Entertainers in your long term publish plan past Pub 28.)
We're still waiting for the "Entertainer Revamp" Any comments?.
as pvp has been mentioned here..can we expect a pvp system in which pvpers can advance, work together and spend their whole play time in if they wish and actually have fun and opponents .. so something drastic or will it be something like we had up to now again that is just a small part of the game not encouriging anyone to do it?
Yes, we have a large scale GCW battleground as well as a PvP leaderboard and rewards/advancement system in the pipe.
Fantastic, seriously why hold information like this till now though? I just dont understand why such great news was being withheld
There has been an outcry on the forums for a roll back. As i understand the term Rollback it would mean rerurning to the old system and scrapping everything that happened since the NGE.
Please clearly state weather this is even possible and discribe what the end results would be if it were?
I will jump in and answer this honestly:
We are not doing a roll back. We are not planning a roll back. We are not discussing a roll back. Once again, we are not doing a roll back.I
Can you see the game being bug free? I can't.
I want a rollback mainly to get rid of the bugs, the bugs are the main things killing SWG, not the actual NGE. NGE code on top of the CU and pre-CU has just totally stuffed things up. I can't see the game ever getting fixed, unless there is a rollback, and the CU is worked upon.
Here's a bold goal -
Let's get all the bugs out of the game within 6 months. Maybe we won't hit it, but that's what we're shooting for.
Smed
So can the next 6 months be free, because thats alot of money to some people, u know paying for something that is broken. U guys do that, then people can't really complain as much, just a thought

We recognize that the current profession system doesn't allow for any real level of character differentiation. As such, we're currently working on an "Expertise" system, that grants the players "points" to spend on specialization. The expertise system gives the profession system a similar feel to what we had pre-nge as far as character customization goes. The tech for this system is being developed for the next publish (this won't be visible to you guys). The publish after that, we're looking at pushing out the first two professions's worth of expertise trees, with two professions targeted for every publish after that. Generally speaking, we'll have three trees for each profession to choose from, including a GCW tree and a "path" tree that will hold things like "dark" and "light" side powers for Jedi, for instance (or droid specializtion, vs poisons for Bounty hunters - for instance).
That's the plan.

Just wanted you to know you have just made my day. I came back to the game in December after not having played since pre-CU (very busy with first year University and partying =p) and the new system took some getting used to. I was enjoying it, but there were things it was definitely missing that the old system(s) had. Profession diversity and the GCW were the main things. I've been following this thread all day and I don't think I've ever been this excited about a video game. If you implement these two things (correctly =p), I will guarantee I'm going to purchase at least another account, as I've already got a crafter and Jedi char on my main/fav galaxy, and would like to experience even more of the professions.
However, I have to be perfectly honest. When I was grinding my Jedi this December/January/February I used to log on almost daily for at least 3-4 hours at a time. I was excited about getting to 90, and was asking around for the fastest way possible. The majority of responses, however, were to slow it down and enjoy playing because there isn't much to do at level 90. I did; I went on guild quests/hunts, even PVP'd a little (despite being a CL~70), and I set up a vendor char to sell the loot I was acquiring on the day. Once I hit 90, though, I stopped logging in as often because apart from HK, Sher Kar and helping out guildies, there wasn't/isn't much of anything to do. I used to love huge PVP battles, but now all the PVP happens in Theed (on my server) and is no where as fun. I'm at a point where I'll just log on to check on my trader and then log off again. I understand you guys are working on content and I'm not going to try and rush you, I just wanted to let you guys know where I and many other players stand.
For the record though, these two things you mentioned above, Helios, are going to keep me playing this game for months, years even if implemented correctly. I would love nothing more but to have a more Jedi'ish feel while playing my Jedi.
Just in case any devs decide to respond to this: Blixtev (or it could have been EJDev) said in a post before pub 27 hit that him and a few design people were working on bringing back not just the old Jedi animations, but particle effects as well. I really enjoyed the old heal and force run particle effects, they had a certain mystique to them that made them feel very Jedi'ish. I would love to have an update on that.
Oh and this is very awesome communication, I hope you guys keep this up!
Just a shameless bump because this got spammed off pretty fast =p.
JetStrike wrote: Smed, could you increase the XP made off of killing creatures, OR add quest xp to terminal missions?
at least until there are more quests added to the game, it would be very nice for us all, the xp nerf on kashyyyk was a kick in the teeth for all player's below lvl 60.
Smed please take a look at this post.
please smed, also consider Quest XP for space quests.
sorry to bump my own post again
Although this isn't the fix you guys are looking for, it at least makes the game bearable until there is enough quests in the game
PLEASE respond to this..
SOMEONE PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS
I know you guys are swamped, but we really would like to know this.
RESPOND PLEASE
We are working on a fix for this. We understand this is an important community issue and are working to solve it as quickly as possible.
So what u gonna do? Raise xp for quests? Add more quests? Or just raise xp for kills?
Short term we will likely be increasing the XP for kills. Long term we will be adding more quests and other content.
thank you rouge 5, any chance of adding quest XP to space missions?
So why did we get rid of Pre Cu in the first place? 80-90% of us players want it the most, wouldn't bringing back pre cu be a "Great" idea for you guys. This is an honest question. Why keep the dying version of SWG that isn't making as much money WHEN you can bring back pre-cu, therefore bringing back loads of players, therefore bringing back loads of cash.

I just cancelled my account today before logging in, it runs up April 13th, this is for personal reasons not the game itself, although the game is boring me to no end at this time, I log in and find myself asking why.
I doubt this gets noticed because of it's length.
I support the COMBAT system of the NGE. Not the NGE on as a whole.
My challenge to the dev team, make me want to come back in within 2 months when I am able to.
Don't let the join date fool you, I have played since launch, I led the first major krayt hunt and Ft Tusken hunt on my server and I am part of the largest rebel guild on the server, we are still growing despite other guilds and the server in general around us seeming to shrink.
I know this game, I have loved and lived this game. What drove me to the madness of being so addicted, it's simple, it used to be I felt like I was part of the universe, now I feel like I am in a game with little to do.
I'll explain somethings that have taken away this feeling for me:
Rigid Class System- first and foremost this is the biggest hinderance to my enjoyment, I liked being multi-skilled in various forms of combat, craft, scout, entertainment if I wanted to be, it made things feel more real, you could kill stuff, come back in and craft something if you wanted that kind of build it was something that made sense and felt like real life, yea you are video game developers but you probably have some skill in other things such correct?
Community - oh boy this is a biggy as I am a very social player, the community is on it's death bed, what was once a living, breathing entity is now in ruins of it's former self, it feels like post-apocolypse where nothing makes sense and everyone has to fend for themselves which brings me to....
Interdependence - Bluntly, your "plan" for crafters, well it sucks, something I loved about Pre-NGE/Pre-CU was the dependence on the crafting community to get us our wares, it felt good to get to know one of the top crafters in your galaxy and shop around, having people actually make something for you instead of having to kill a big ugly scorpion that for whatever illogical reason is carrying a flamethrower. It was unique to SWG the amount of community inter-dependence and the crafting system is something even the heaviest nay-sayers of SWG, could see value in, it was deep, rich and worthwhile to both the crafter and shopper.
PvP - Bases are coming back, great start, battlefields were in game at launch then nothing, bring them back, something that was promised again and again was combat vehicles, bring them in. For these Battlegrounds you are talking about, make them instanced so you can have the atomspheric flight we crave.
Content - you admitted enough of what we need to know what we need. Just remember the EU is rich with many things we could be seeing in game. I think we should have more dungeons like either the caverns on Kashyyk or DWB, but not fully instanced like Sher Kar
TKA/CH/BE/Ranger: I think a general melee class called TKA based more in the EU style of them now, and able to use all melee weapons should be brought in as well as Ranger/BE/Ch in some form,
Difficulty: Devs, I cannot beileve how you missed this one....NGE = Level 90 characters right, but you didn't bump up the creatures that were around 80+ these 10 levels, what has happend now is that the end game is a joke, I can solo my way to the overlord in the dwb (can't kill him but I know jedi who can, I am a commando). I can solo just about any other high end mob/dungeon as well, THIS is a problem, no one wants to pay $15/month for a single player game with a chat room.
To conclude my rant: I am happy to see you posting more, I hope this keeps up and is not a one time thing, this should be AT LEAST a once a month event, a big chain post between players and devs/producers, bi-weekly would be even better. (Daily would rock but is unrealistic)
My ideas are what I have gathered from myself, my guildmates and other players. In game play discussion forum I have a rather popular post that talks about how swg is the best and worst MMO I have ever played.
I am just a simple college drop out who was going to major in english but failed math, I am a fan of this game and I would love to see it reach it's potential.
