You really want to get the community back on your side? Quit charging for the game. Those of us, myself included who pay for the 21 month all access will still be funding your developers, cut the team in half, offer NO support on the game for now except for minimal dev skeleton crew fixing and creating this game that you guys keep telling us will be here soon, have them fix the classes, have them fix the content issues, have them fix this game how you want it.
But you will never keep customers because of your past. SoE has lied, misled and flat out disrespected this community beyond belief. Why is it the austin studio? Why did EQ, and EQ2 teams not end up like this with the major game reworks they went through? Because they treat the community like a community who is paying for their game, sure SoE had a bad rep early in the days of Verant, with EQ but those days are gone along with the visionites who created Sigil.
You want me back as a loyal customer? Show me you are willing to eat your mistakes, while throwing us a bone. Garner more players to stay here during the revamp by giving them access to the game for free, make them still pay for the box sales, but make the sub free. Those of us who already pay for all access will still pay the 21 a month, and in a way I would be HAPPY to hold the financial needs of this game on my shoulders since I still have access to all your other games at the same time, but you will NEVER get new subs at this point with no reason for them to come here.
Have you checked the reviews your game gets? Have you looked what happened to your box sales reviews on sites like amazon, and ebgames? People as much as you do not want to admit will take those seriously, and if you want people to be here when you are finally finished with the game and start paying for it? Then show them you are willing to do what it takes to win them back, and let them play for free for the years they have spent beta testing your "product".
Smed, any comment about the uselessness of CSRs? Take this for example. I looted a One Handed Old Republic Lightsaber Schematic from HK47, took me a month to get it. I ran back to my city to craft it, got all my best resources, my crafting tool, experimentation suit and stood infront of my Weapon Crafting Station. Learned the schematic, started crafting the saber, added the resources.. and then had it skip immediatly over the experimentation phase directly to the naming and output phase. At this point you can't go back because you'd just lose the schem and have nothing to show for it at all.
So I figured I'd submit a ticket since it was clearly a bug, hoping that a CSR would help me out by taking the unexperimented hilt out of my inventory and dropping another 1h schematic in there. No, the CSR logged into my account, used my resources to craft a lightsaber, to tell me that he could experiment so I must be doing something wrong. He closed the ticket after that. I submitted another ticket, asking for further explination on why a CSR wouldn't help me and also seeking assistance again. The CSR that replied to me told me not to file another ticket or they would take disiplinary action against my account in game. The crafting process was bugged, not my fault, SOE's fault. I didn't get my Lightsaber that took me a month to get, and the CSR's are so unwilling to help that the simple solution of taking the Hilt in my inventory and spawning the schematic again in my inventory to replace it (so I could experiment on it) was completely out of the question. Why aren't the CSR's helpful (or knowledgeable about the game) and why dont they actively solve any problems that seem fairly simple to do?
Bump... anything on the issue of CSR's that are far less then helpful?

When can we see a return of class seperation? I have never played a MMORPG except SWG and my time in SWG leading to the NGE was awesome, I was even gonna get another game by SOE but the NGE came out. Is there anyway you can incorporate secondary professions to these 9, such as rifles/carbines/pistols/fencer/tkm/swords/pikeman? Allow these secondary skills to bring roots, snares, and more damage dealing attacks.
As well is there anyway in which you can implement a system where we can change professions other than respec device? I get bored of my profession and I would like to change but can not since I would have to delete my character and reestablish myself all over, not to mention that Id lose my houses and Loot

One of the more tech headed guys in these forums posted an explanation as to why FPS combat has NEVER been done by other MMORPG's.
Basically he said that it's impossible for the internet to send the combat information needed to every toon in the surrounding area in the speed needed for Real Time combat. This it seems is why we're having so much trouble with our specials either not firing or miss firing because the data simply isn't being transferred fast enough.
Your thoughts on this? (keep it simple please)
Specials not firing is entirely unrelated to this issue. FPSs use mostly UDP. SWG doesn't really use UDP. UDP uses small, fast packets that don't rely on being delivered 100% of the time, because they constantly get resent with updated information. You need a lot more bandwidth for UDP based gaming, generally because you constantly need to send updated about traveling projectiles, etc.
The problem with specials not firing has to do with a timer on the client. It's essentially a problem with trying to fire a special while another attack is still executing (like a default left-click attack). That's why you can let off the mouse for a short while and the special will fire.
As you see, we have identified the issue and the programming staff is investigating a fix.
I agree with the YoddaKiller. Everyone said trying to convert SWG into a FPS style game would present these kinds of technical problems. Why didn't SOE approach the NGE in a manner more like what SonGouki stated in his farewell post? If the dev team does succeed in bringing more subscribers to the game, how will the number of players be supported? These are the kinds of doubts the community is faced with. You want us to stay on, and we want to stay on. But we don't see how you're going to truly turn things around.

Lots of talk about the "secret" project which really isn't a secret anymore. We are doing a playable demo for E3 and Swede is working on the team that is putting that together. The project is actually going to be larger then just the demo and become a new themepark with a GCW theme (lots of Rebels v. Imperials) to it, which will be put into the game in publish 29.
The intention of this themepark is to cover our bases with E3 and develope a new set of repeatable, high end content for all of you.
The expansion team, which is no more, is now working on nothing but high end content that will be sent out in our regular publishes.

That is just the High End Content that will be coming out for Publish 29. We want to do alot of different types of content for people to do at the high ends. Some of them would be things like class specific story arc missions, new dungeons similar to the DWB, PvP battlefields, GCW ranks and rewards systems, etc. Basically, we really want to give our high end players a lot of different choices of what they want to do when they log in.
