Wow, this thread is getting tough to keep up with. Next question I have for Smed:

What kind of content can we look forward to in the future?

I know there are plenty of bugs to fix as it is and people are complaining about profession balancing, the role of combat, crafting, etc. but it's a pretty big deal for the higher level players and the pre-beta veterans (such as myself) that most of us are RUNNING OUT OF THINGS TO DO! I log in to EQII and I am overwhelmed with options, quests to do, xp to earn (from regular creatures even, not just via completing quests, which SWG doesn't have enough right now if that's our sole route of earning xp).

I hope it's high up on the priority list. What fun is a game that is all kill such and such mob over and over and over and loot this over and over and over or try to get the "phat lewt" before anyone else does. When will we really get to interact with the Star Wars universe we are playing in? There are still a good number of folks that would like to RP in this MMORPG and there are non-RPers who are running out of fun and exciting things to do. I'm just really concerned that content isn't a priority, how can a game be enjoyed if the meat of it isn't being worked on? We can discuss game mechanics all day (and we are, aren't we?) but what is the heart of a game all about? Presenting the players with opportunities and stories they can't read or buy any where else.. the kind we participate in and thrive off of, the kind that keep us interested in SWG because we want to affect the galaxies that we exist in. The possibilities are endless, I'd really like to see more quests with creative story lines so that when I read what the Quest-Giving NPC is telling me, it's not some half-done, rushed dialogue that really has nothing to do with anything else in the game. I guess I'm more interested in the actual RPing aspects of the game than the combat and everything else, but quests benefit everyone, whether you're a casual/harcore gamer or a RPer/non-RPer. It'd be good to know things like that are being developed for the future so we can have things to do besides craft or kill HK-47 over again.

I think this is a question best left to the people actually doing the work.. Devs?

if all of the Nge changes were so necessary to make it easier for you to fix problems and add content why is everything we have seen since the NGE been focused on giving us back what we already had.

Okay don't get me wrong.  I think the DEVS and SMED have done a good thing answering as many questions here.  But this is a bit chaotic.  We're up to almost 90 pages...may hit 90 as I type this.  That means a lot of scrolling threw pages and a lot of missed questions/answers.

Would it be possible to do something similar to this again in more of a chatroom format?  It would be nice if it were on a regular basis (once a month or so), but I'm not going to make that kind of imposition on people's time.

Smed, could you increase the XP made off of killing creatures, OR add quest xp to terminal missions?

at least until there are more quests added to the game, it would be very nice for us all, the xp nerf on kashyyyk was a kick in the teeth for all player's below lvl 60.

Smed please take a look at this post.

please smed, also consider Quest XP for space quests.

sorry to bump my own post again

Although this isn't the fix you guys are looking for, it at least makes the game bearable until there is enough quests in the game

PLEASE respond to this..

at least humor me with a "no".

but on a more serious note, how about giving me the ability to "deactivate' my account, so i can save my prepaid time untill you get this game in its 'finished' state.

as it is now, im just wasting my time in waiting for this 'finished' game, and then i can decide if i want to play it, or ditch it.

i will admit, its not fair to you guys for me to judge where i stand on the game, when even you admit its not finished.

if we want to be friendly, polite and respectfull to each other, please stop ignoreing that that when alot of us prePaid, the NGE was no where in sight (even to your top CS relations person at the time, or are we to belive tiggs is lieing when she states she had no idea about the nge?)

unless you stand up and admit how unfair it is to this specific situation, i see no real drive to be friendly, polite or respectful to you. and im sure you understand why.

Ok we have all asked for this question to be answered many times. (I have been asking since page 53! )

Will you guys be able to add more quests soon for xp? Or can you just raise the xp for creature kills until more quests come out? So far it is impossible to level up. I have done all the worthwhile quests and am stuck at lvl 78. I dont see a real way to get 500k xp anytime soon.

Smed, any comment about the uselessness of CSRs?  Take this for example.  I looted a One Handed Old Republic Lightsaber Schematic from HK47, took me a month to get it.  I ran back to my city to craft it, got all my best resources, my crafting tool, experimentation suit and stood infront of my Weapon Crafting Station.  Learned the schematic, started crafting the saber, added the resources.. and then had it skip immediatly over the experimentation phase directly to the naming and output phase.  At this point you can't go back because you'd just lose the schem and have nothing to show for it at all.

So I figured I'd submit a ticket since it was clearly a bug, hoping that a CSR would help me out by taking the unexperimented hilt out of my inventory and dropping another 1h schematic in there.  No, the CSR logged into my account, used my resources to craft a lightsaber, to tell me that he could experiment so I must be doing something wrong.  He closed the ticket after that.  I submitted another ticket, asking for further explination on why a CSR wouldn't help me and also seeking assistance again.  The CSR that replied to me told me not to file another ticket or they would take disiplinary action against my account in game.  The crafting process was bugged, not my fault, SOE's fault.  I didn't get my Lightsaber that took me a month to get, and the CSR's are so unwilling to help that the simple solution of taking the Hilt in my inventory and spawning the schematic again in my inventory to replace it (so I could experiment on it) was completely out of the question.  Why aren't the CSR's helpful (or knowledgeable about the game) and why dont they actively solve any problems that seem fairly simple to do?

Bump... anything on the issue of CSR's that are far less then helpful?

There are acouple issuse that I see. One thing is the lack of end game content to keep me busy. It seems the publish plan is going to take some time to complete. Without this plan finished there isnt much point in playing my character, as I mainly play games for the PvP. Right now its just a zerg sysytem with no point/goal. It would be nice to see some kind of temp. point system or some kinda goal to accomplish for PvP. If we can get anything in the realistic near future, why cant we have more character slots? This would atleast keep me busy maken and LvLing alts.

Another issuse related to the first is the publish plan itself. Classes being reworked one at a time leaves alot of people toward the end frustrated. Couldnt you toss a bone for some of the other classes prior to their scheduled revamp? If you are 90 and have all your items, and want to PvP and your class falls at the end of the cycle your outta luck and will get owned in PvP.

One more point I would like to make is the buffs, they need to stack better. Right now there is little reason to do all the mustafar quests due to the fact you can only use one wearable item buff. I cant see the reasoning in not being able to use, lets say, the mining necklace and a crystal that adds to offensive attack, like the distance globe.

There are other questions but I feel these are more of my top ones

this is a tough problem. We have X # of resources on the team. We can only work on so much at any given time, and some of the things we're doing take a long time (multiple publishes). It's just not realistic for us to do it this way.

Smed

Had there be focus on the VETS who have remain loyal instead of throwing us to the CURB, which you did by focusing on new players (business reasons) with your massive tutorial and long line of legacy quests this really wouldnt be a problem. I like the tutorial, and that was great but you shouldnt have established a quest line for newer players since you didnt focus on Veterans

Mr. Smedley and SOE Devs... First, I would like to say that I really do appreciate you guys taking the time out of your day to answer our questions. I'm sure everyone else does to. I've been a member of the SWG community well before launch, and have been a subscriber since launch. I hope this is a change in the right direction for the sub-par customer support we've had thus far. I was curious if you guys would answer some questions that I've asked before, but have never gotten any replies on. If you take the time to read and reply, I thank you ahead of time.

>Animations -Right now, the game is in poor shape. I can understand this to a degree, since you guys just pushed a major game mechanics overhaul. The major thing I have an issue with is the game animations. I've heard that there are new animations being planned for the game, but other than the announcement of "new animations", I've never heard anything beyond that. Right now, attacking animations for any melee weapon is just a joke. I'm poking beasts and other players to death with a lance or lightsaber. Jumping is just an emote at the moment... a rather low quality one at that. My question is, are there new animations being planned for release? If so, when can we expect to see them? Will new animations, such as one for jump, help us interact with the world

>In Game Community - This is my major beef with the game at the moment. There is no sense of community in the game. This is due to a few things, but I think the major contributor to the lack of community is the low server population. I can spend a few hours on Starsider (my server) and not see more than 30 or so people. 15 of those people are in the Mos Eisley cantina, which has sort of turned into the RP center of my server. I'm trying not to tell you what to do, but I think that there really needs to be a condensing of servers. At any given time, I'd guess that there's somewhere from 200 to 500 people on the top 5 servers, like Bria and Ahazi. On other servers, which are less popular, there seems to be around 150 to 300 people. I remember a year back there was 100 people in Theed or Coronet alone. Now there's no more than a handfull of people at any given time. I think that you guys should seriously ponder limiting the amount of servers you have. You have a smaller player base than you did before, and the players are spread thinly across 25 or so servers. If you cut the servers down to about 15, we'll see larger populations on servers, giving the feeling of population and community back into the game. I don't know how you could go about this without pissing off players, since their player cities would be lost and so on, but I think for the time being, this would be a good idea. When/if a large amount of players start to flow into the game again, then more servers could be opened up, but at the moment, the players are spread too thin across the servers.

>Leveling Up -
I know this one is on the minds of several players in the community. What steps are being taken to ensure that we have enough content to actually GET us to lvl 90. At the moment, the whole "killing every thing that moves" grinding seems to be the best way to get XP. Questing, which if I understand correctly was supose to be the main way to get XP, has been reduced to nothing. The legacy quest only gets us up to lvl 45 or something. Kashyyyk quests have been nerfed, and Mustafar remains decent for XP. Of course, when the NGE came out, I did all the quests on Kashyyyk. I did 80% of the Mustafar quests. I was stuck with a lvl 80 toon with no way to level up without massive amounts of grinding. I'm just curious if there are plans to add missions more suitable to the lvl 65 to 90 crowd? At lvl 80, I only had a few options that actually posed challenges... one of those was the Avatar platform... which was nerfed from 175k XP to 1k XP. Repeatable quests have been nerfed as well. I have pondered starting up another character on my server, but I'm afraid that when I get around 65 or so, I'll be SOL and be stuck at that level for quite some time. Again, thank you for your time. If you answer my questions, I truely appreciate it.

So where exactly was the dev presence in the Entertainer forums to try and determine what the community there wanted? The only Red Name that I've seen in there in a long time was TH saying that the Entertainer combat docs were delayed. Nothing more.
