The tech for this system is being developed for the next publish (this won't be visible to you guys). The publish after that, we're looking at pushing out the first two professions's worth of expertise trees, with two professions targeted for every publish after that. Generally speaking, we'll have three trees for each profession to choose from, including a GCW tree and a "path" tree that will hold things like "dark" and "light" side powers for Jedi, for instance (or droid specializtion, vs poisons for Bounty hunters - for instance).

That's the plan.

Does this include Traders and Entertainers?

Because to be honest, it's very, very frustrating to be left out of all of these changes, quests, etc. because they are level-based or profession-based and exclude us.

Is our combat status change going to enable us to gain experience from space combat? We've only been waiting three months.

Will we have any part in base construction, maintenance, or destruction? Can we?

Are we ever going to have more Entertainer abilities?

This is a great start.  Just a word of caution, take your time doing this...don't rush it out.  We would rather wait a little longer for something we'll enjoy, rather than just rushing something out to us that isn't quite what wanted.

This has easily been the most productive thread on these boards in months...all we need is a little communication from the horses' mouthes once in a while.  The few minutes it takes you guys to post means more to the community than you'll ever know.

We're still pulling for ya!

Devs, I have a valid quesiton for you... I don't think you've already answered it.. if so.. my bad.

What I would like to know is.. is anything being done about the broken "action packed" combat system? Like the issue of it being so fast that servers can't keep up with it. For example, the MAJOR iusse with speicals not working... getting messeges like "You can not attack while fighting".. and so on and so on.. Do you know if it is being addressed?

Still waiting... maybe this is being dodged?

Devs - please have one of the programmers respond to this. I've seen a lot of complaints on this.

Now that's an ambitious goal and one I would love to see us achieve. I just hope the testing process won't be compromised again as it was for Publish 27 by the use of frogs which let two game affecting (and still unrepaired) bugs go live without being reported.

Frogs have a great place, but there needs to be a test base that is encouraged to test the parts of the game frogs don't.

...is still tracking down more bugs
NB: Any comments I make on TC code can and often do change
before they reach live and may not reach live at all, please read my
comments with that in mind.

Yeah. O and like I've been saying (but still no response) Can we please get more xp for killing animals until more quests are put in the game? It is extremely hard to gain lvls right now. I've done every quest worth doing and still come out to be lvl 78.

For gods sake please answer. I've been asking this question since page 53!

Veteran Jedi Guardian- Arhreton Venator CANCELED
Veteran MBH- Imor Ewak CANCELED
Veteran Jedi padawan- Vysage Maim CANCELED
Veteran Master armorsmith- Diomede CANCELED

- I support a rollback and keeping & balancing the old combat system.

Smed you should not post at all.

I was somewhat content with the game. No expansions planned? 3 maxed out characters and nothing to do, no reason to continue playing. Period.

I realize the game is not in a position to support an expansion, but that's not my fault. The way I see it, you guys are wasting time, when you could be producing a really good expansion.

Smed or a csr please answer.

There has been an outcry on the forums for a roll back. As i understand the term Rollback it would mean rerurning to the old system and scrapping everything that happened since the NGE.

Please clearly state weather this is even possible and discribe what the end results would be if it were?

I will jump in and answer this honestly:

We are not doing a roll back. We are not planning a roll back. We are not discussing a roll back. Once again, we are not doing a roll back.I

Can you see the game being bug free? I can't.

I want a rollback mainly to get rid of the bugs, the bugs are the main things killing SWG, not the actual NGE. NGE code on top of the CU and pre-CU has just totally stuffed things up. I can't see the game ever getting fixed, unless there is a rollback, and the CU is worked upon.

Here's a bold goal -

Let's get all the bugs out of the game within 6 months. Maybe we won't hit it, but that's what we're shooting for.

well, here is a Link to what Swede said... any response {Please don't fire Swede...}

There is no secret project.  We are doing a really new cool event which we will be showing off at E3.

So it is a secret until E3 which makes it a SECRET PROJECT.

Hi everyone,

Lots of talk about the "secret" project which really isn't a secret anymore. We are doing a playable demo for E3 and Swede is working on the team that is putting that together. The project is actually going to be larger then just the demo and become a new themepark with a GCW theme (lots of Rebels v. Imperials) to it, which will be put into the game in publish 29.

The intention of this themepark is to cover our bases with E3 and develope a new set of repeatable, high end content for all of you.

The expansion team, which is no more, is now working on nothing but high end content that will be sent out in our regular publishes.

Although bring back the Astromech stats - they WERE interesting.

I have a few questions I would love to get answered with more than the standard we are working on it now response with no further info.

1. When will XP for creatures and NPCs be increased so those of us who don't like quests and get back to hunting?

2. Will we be able to modify our templates?  And i dont mean you give us items that make us different, we want to be able to use our 250 skill points any way we want to and have parts of dif skill trees like before.

3. Since SOE has changed these in the past why are we getting the old its very hard or technilogicaly imposible to do this answer?  We arent stupid little kids, software can be modified anyway you want to, it just takes the will to do it.

Smed, I am asking some tough questions and nobody answers me?  Is this the legacy you want to leave at SOE?  Please respond to my questions with real answers.
