Now, onto my bribery. I will fedex the first dev who will respond to these three questions a 12 pack of heineken, or similar brew. No joke.
1. Mando armor color issues - Droid engineer palette change to match Tailor and Armorsmith - or - Armor recolor tool.
2. House decorating option - Allow us to rotate objects on the x y and (Z) planes. Like all the objects in Nym's GH for example.
3. Imperial Royal Guard Uniform - any chance of this hitting the game? Even if its not armor stat'd (that would be awesome), or a loot drop like the Black Sun Helmet in frequency.
I know there are more pressing issues, and many other questions, I have a full 2 page word doc I add to daily on things I like about the game or dislike.
Remember dev's the brews on me if you chime in. Thanks :-)

Yeah. O and like I've been saying (but still no response) Can we please get more xp for killing animals until more quests are put in the game? It is extremely hard to gain lvls right now. I've done every quest worth doing and still come out to be lvl 78.

I know this is a loaded question, but I think the community deserves an answer. I know this is one of the things I've been upset about for a while.
Yes it's a loaded question, but I'll answer it. I think people that believe they are paying for a beta quit. Am I happy with the state of the game? No way. Do I think it's entertaining for a lot of people? Yes, or we wouldn't have subscribers. Is it good enough? Not yet.. no.
So no, I don't think people are paying for a beta. Again, I'm sure by the very nature of the question that you'll disagree.. but there it is.
Smed
I would like to respectfully disagree with you. I myself am one of these people. I know of many others that feel this way too. If you don't believe me, do a poll on it.
ok. Maybe you're right. I think what you're saying is "I'm a loyal customer that thinks the game isn't in shape to where I should be paying". Is it entertaining you?
Smed
I am also one of those customers who would respectfully disagree with you. In answer to your question "Is it entertaining me" the answer is NO. I come here and post. Lot more fun then current NGE game. Or I play WoW etc. During PreCU I palyed WoW just enough to get a feel for it then came back to PreCU SWG and stayed here. Till the CU. Started playing WoW more. Then the NGE and my play of WoW went up and I restarted my play of EQ2.
I do want SWG to become big again so I continue to subscribe even though I could cancel and still post here because I also have a all station pass with my old EQ account.
On a side note I am one of many SWG players that would REALLY like to have our SWG accounts under all station pass but couldnt because of software bugs in the origional login and the transfer options offered by customer support are to delete either our EQ,EQ2 accounts or our SWG account and start over under the all stattion access
Last Thank you all for taking time to talk to us in this thread and to actually try and read and keep up with all the questions.

The irony of this situation is that I think YOU are the best example of why we need to make this game better. You should be in the game enjoying it.. not out here complaining about it. Obviously you're not enjoying it enough so we have to make it better! I'd love to see a ghost town on the forums and in-game see so many people we need to add 100 servers. We need to make the game better for that to happen.. and we're working on it.
Smed
Obviously been taking too many coffee breaks!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You're out of time, SOE The whole 2.5 months shouldn't have been. The game was fine up until Nov 15th. If the CU was worked on, instead of devoting time to the NGE (including the many months prior to November), the game could possibly be totally bug free by now.
My account cancels on 2nd Feb, which was a waste as only played game for 1 day to get the life day gifts, will be resubbing when creature handler, Bio-engineer, scout, and ranger return, oh and the FS village.
We recognize that the current profession system doesn't allow for any real level of character differentiation. As such, we're currently working on an "Expertise" system, that grants the players "points" to spend on specialization. The expertise system gives the profession system a similar feel to what we had pre-nge as far as character customization goes. The tech for this system is being developed for the next publish (this won't be visible to you guys). The publish after that, we're looking at pushing out the first two professions's worth of expertise trees, with two professions targeted for every publish after that. Generally speaking, we'll have three trees for each profession to choose from, including a GCW tree and a "path" tree that will hold things like "dark" and "light" side powers for Jedi, for instance (or droid specializtion, vs poisons for Bounty hunters - for instance).
That's the plan.
Thank you Helios_SOE etall for taking time to chat with us today.
On profession specilizations. The way you describe above is pretty much the same as WoW and similar to EQ and EQ2. One of the points MANY of us have tried to make in the past is that the PreNGE way of profession specilization was MUCH BETTER than any of the other listed MMOs. (IMO)
I would like to recommend you remove the NGE wrapper on Professions and return the specilization system you had which worked fine other than balance. Then the time you would have to spend creating the new system and balanceing it could be spent on just balancing.

Why take away crafting spice? I enjoyed it and if some smugglers didnt they didnt have to.
Why take away slicing - same? I enjoyed it and if some smugglers didn't they didn'y have to.
Why take away bases - I enjoyed grouping with friends on a regular basis for this and now vets are left with nothing execpt pvp for the "GCW"
Why take away faction pets? They werent that good anyway...but most enjoyed them.
Slicing type gameplay will return with the reverse-engineering game for traders. GCW bases (not to be confused with battlefields) will be making a combeback in an upcoming publish. One of the systems guys is looking into updating these as we speak. Faction pets are coming back as part of GCW expertise trees (see my post above).
omg - this is the first response I have ever had from a dev. /tear thank you.
Please dont let this slicing have anything to do with stupid space or ships ugh. It just seems like yes you will get some of the old stuff you loved .. not all... but some. I look back and I liked smuggler soooo much - no i dont use except to make a game table or 2 (bubble tanks btw are broken)
I harvested material
I made my own upgrade kits
I sold some as a smuggler supplier

I'm disappointed that UI enhancements aren't on your top 5, Smed. I understand you have to draw the line somewhere but I thought this was something important to you.
1. It looks SO silly when you jump while running.
2. We really need more then 1 row on a toolbar. I don't see why this hasn't been done yet and it would be so well received by the players.
3. We need the ability to customize our interface ... I'm not talking complete customization, but let us drag stuff around and adjust the settings for our own style.
4. I know this has been said before but I'm state it now and then never bring it up again. Vet players should NOT have to go huff out more XP to get to 90. We put in the time. We did the grind. We should be given the levels wrapped in a thank you for sticking with the game. PERIOD.
5. I'm floored at the "insight" of how you guys develop and publish. I thought the biggest waterfall was in Naboo ... turns out it's Austin as part of your methodology.
Smed ... you're the only thing that keeps my faith in this game. I know you can pull this off and I'm behind ya 100%. Let's make this happen!

I think I need to side with the crafters here, even though I am not one. (Tried it.....it's not for me.)
There was a post here in this forum earlier this week from a Bounty Hunter who made the suggestion that all other profession revamps be put on a back-burner until the crafters and entertaines have been given their revamps. I honestly think this is a great idea since it will reimplement a lost feature of this game.......interreliance of the professions. And it would go a long way to pave the road for whatever comes next.

Let me put this into simple terms that you can understand. I WANT TO CRAFT! I dont want to RE loot all day long, I dont find that fun, I dont find that immersive, I dont find that engaging in the least.
6 months for bugs? By that time we will have 2 times at many bugs the way you all put publishes out, maybe if you all took the time to get the kinks out of publishes this goal might not seem so impossible.

Helios_SOE wrote: The reverse engineering system planned for the trader revamp will replace things like clothing and armor attachments. In the mean time, it's unlikely that we will add content that will be replaced with an upcoming publish. So the short answer is we don't plan on adding too much to trader until we do their revamp.
Ok - Here is the problem with the proposed RE system - IT ISN'T CRAFTING. Look, RE can be a fun little game for people, and it does work. But is isn't crafting.
Here is what crafting is:
Locating resources with good stats.
Finding some chef foods or an entertainer buff to help make better items.
Working with a customer to make a component/item that fit their needs.
Having pride in making good items - and trying to best yourself.
Here is what RE'ing is:
Combat guy loot camps or hunts for days and days to get items with good stats.
Combat guy takes loot to crafter.
Crafter dumps their items in an RE tool and an item is spit out.
Now, Smed, Devs - You tell me. Which version do you think is more fun for the crafter?
QFE!! I want to run the harvester fields and do surveys and gather the best resources, I want to craft the items that players want and have those items be better than LOOTED items, I want to be part of the player-driven economy again. NOT be an add-on component to a combat system... which is what RE is.
Where are you guys getting this information about this is the way the traders want to go?!?!?

at least until there are more quests added to the game, it would be very nice for us all, the xp nerf on kashyyyk was a kick in the teeth for all player's below lvl 60.
Smed please take a look at this post.
please smed, also consider Quest XP for space quests.
sorry to bump my own post again
Although this isn't the fix you guys are looking for, it at least makes the game bearable until there is enough quests in the game
PLEASE respond to this..
