Please clearly state weather this is even possible and discribe what the end results would be if it were?

Smed please take a look at this post.

please smed, also consider Quest XP for space quests.

Ok - Here is the problem with the proposed RE system - IT ISN'T CRAFTING. Look, RE can be a fun little game for people, and it does work. But is isn't crafting.

Here is what crafting is:

  1. Locating resources with good stats.
  2. Finding some chef foods or an entertainer buff to help make better items.
  3. Working with a customer to make a component/item that fit their needs.
  4. Having pride in making good items - and trying to best yourself.

Here is what RE'ing is:

  1. Combat guy loot camps or hunts for days and days to get items with good stats.
  2. Combat guy takes loot to crafter.
  3. Crafter dumps their items in an RE tool and an item is spit out.

Now, Smed, Devs - You tell me. Which version do you think is more fun for the crafter?

This type of no hold barred conversation between players and dev's is long overdue, and very welcomed. Thank you for this.

Now, onto my bribery. I will fedex the first dev who will respond to these three questions a 12 pack of heineken, or similar brew. No joke.

1. Mando armor color issues - Droid engineer palette change to match Tailor and Armorsmith - or - Armor recolor tool.

2. House decorating option - Allow us to rotate objects on the x y and (Z) planes. Like all the objects in Nym's GH for example.

3. Imperial Royal Guard Uniform - any chance of this hitting the game? Even if its not armor stat'd (that would be awesome), or a loot drop like the Black Sun Helmet in frequency.

I know there are more pressing issues, and many other questions, I have a full 2 page word doc I add to daily on things I like about the game or dislike.

Remember dev's the brews on me if you chime in. Thanks :-)

Smed, why is it that the dev team and you are always avoiding this one question?

Will we ever see Clothing and Armor Attachments drop again? Crafters right now are getting screwed because they can't get any more experimentation points since they aren't dropping.

Someone from the dev team please answer this question.

Smed

The reverse engineering system planned for the trader revamp will replace things like clothing and armor attachments.  In the mean time, it's unlikely that we will add content that will be replaced with an upcoming publish.  So the short answer is we don't plan on adding too much to trader until we do their revamp.

So why should the crafters continue to pay until we get our revamp in 6-8 months?

And is the RE system all that is planned for crafters?

The question is will anyone be talking to us about what is being worked on for crafters before it is set in stone and if so when will that be?  We need information.

I just want to make sure that you realize that right now I and many other crafters see no reason why we should keep paying for this game until publish 32. Tell us where we are headed.

I know the armor restrictions being dropped will help armorsmiths (thought it can be argued that the loot drops will cancel out any bennefit there) but what about the other crafting professions?
Is there any information that you can give us about what is going to keep us here?

Here is the state of crafting as I see it.
Most of this will be DE centered because it is my main profession.

Right now crafters feel very unloved. We have been combined into professions that some of us have no interest in playing (eg. DE combined with a limited version of WS).
We have no substantial source of repeat business, and repair tools alone will not solve that problem.

Several of the modules that were introduced to DE with the "droid invasion" no longer have a purpose, some of them haven't worked right from the beginning.

All crafting professions have bugs that have been around since launch! Almost 33 months now.
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=tradereng&message.id=6802#M6802

I know the devs want to avoid the passionate discussions but they need to remember that they caused the passion by nerfing and ignoring us for so long. The only way to begin to have rational disussions is to start giving us information.
Include at least some trader love for each sub-profession in each publish until our revamp. Give us new usefull schematics.

When you do add new schematics to the game please add them in a way that crafters can get without paying for them. That means not loot drop schematics and not cube combos unless crafters have a way of aquiring the glowing items without combat and without buying them from combatants. A little bit of loot drop and cube combos are fine but don't make them all that way.

We would love it if we could do non combat quests that have either a permanent schematic as a reward or a repeatable quest with limited use schematics. By non combat quests we are not talking about just delivery missions or the crafting missions from the terminals either. That can be incorporated in some way but we want an immersive Star Wars experience too. There have been several good ideas of ways that crafter quests could be implimented and if you started a thread asking for ideas I know you would get more than you could ever use.

And please stop blaming the traders for our current situation, TH said that the traders were only focussing on high end items (which many have disagreed with) and instead of talking with the crafters to come up with a solution you have started cutting us out of the game with loot .

Please help us.

Why take away faction pets? They werent that good anyway...but most enjoyed them.

Slicing type gameplay will return with the reverse-engineering game for traders.  GCW bases (not to be confused with battlefields) will be making a combeback in an upcoming publish.  One of the systems guys is looking into updating these as we speak.  Faction pets are coming back as part of GCW expertise trees (see my post above).

I'm going to ask this for the 4th time now, hoping you'll shed some light on this.  I'm a day 1 (beta 3) vet, so I'm hoping you'll answer this for the sake of a long time vet.

You mentioned the possibility of guilds having their own capital starships such as star destroyers.  I'd like to know what is the status of capital ships given that there is now no expansion on the horizon.  Will we be seeing them implemented as free content?  What about combat vehicles such as AT-ATs (which I've yet to see in a combat role in 3 years)?

If we got to the point where we had the time to do this, I suspect it would be an expansion. It was in the plans for the future. Right now we're focused on the core game and making it better.

What you said would be cool.. and it's a dream of ours and has been for a long time!

Excellent!

A question though on how you intend for this to work...  Will you be able to freely drop and change these skills, or will they be "set in stone" on selection?  I think some sort of system whereby you can spend credits and "respec" your skill points would be a great thing, and would let people change their characters as their tastes change.

For example:  I have always been a Rebel player, and a Light side Jedi (my pre-NGE template reflected that, my being a Lighstaber Master rather than a Powers Master).  What if I fall to the "dark side" and (gasp) went Imperial?  Would I be able to change those skills to support darkside powers (such as lightning and choke)  away from the lightside support set I am certain to initially change?

Another idea:

Allow Entertainers (via Image Design) respec these skills for you! (A nice way to make entertainers viable again)

You're out of time, SOE The whole 2.5 months shouldn't have been. The game was fine up until Nov 15th. If the CU was worked on, instead of devoting time to the NGE (including the many months prior to November), the game could possibly be totally bug free by now.

My account cancels on 2nd Feb, which was a waste as only played game for 1 day to get the life day gifts, will be resubbing when creature handler, Bio-engineer, scout, and ranger return, oh and the FS village.
