There has been an outcry on the forums for a roll back. As i understand the term Rollback it would mean rerurning to the old system and scrapping everything that happened since the NGE.
Please clearly state weather this is even possible and discribe what the end results would be if it were?
Smed, why is it that the dev team and you are always avoiding this one question?
Will we ever see Clothing and Armor Attachments drop again? Crafters right now are getting screwed because they can't get any more experimentation points since they aren't dropping.
Someone from the dev team please answer this question.

The reverse engineering system planned for the trader revamp will replace things like clothing and armor attachments. In the mean time, it's unlikely that we will add content that will be replaced with an upcoming publish. So the short answer is we don't plan on adding too much to trader until we do their revamp.
SO traders RE stuff and get stuff LIKE tapes??? So we have to pay greedy looters all over again? I'm glad we again get singled out as being what messed up this game... sigh...
PLUS 29 is april...
30 is what june???
31 august?
32 which use to be 29... is not october? can you not see waiting that long will practically kill any of the CRAFTERS not TRADERS left in this game... do you see that? CAN you see that.

I'd just like to say to Smed that while I may not always agree with way things are handled, I must say the bit of humor you've managed to interject here and there in your posting today is refreshing.
The talking to the community is good and I can imagine in the context of today's posting mighty frustrating. And some of the answers you give sound more like a human then a suit. That's something I think the community really needs to feel and like I said the humor goes a long way to reflect that.

Let me address your point head on. - SWG never attracted the size audience that the Star Wars license delivered in the first place. One of those reasons was combat wasn't exciting enough. We have done enough research on the people who quit or people that didn't purchase the game to know this is a hard, brutal cold fact. Could we have gone a different direction with the combat? Yes. Could we in the future change this direction? Yes. Do I think we will? No. Why? Because I don't believe that this will be an issue if we solve the other half of the equation - making the professions feel different... and making the content really exciting. If we asked you all to rank Combat vs. the loss of professions, I'm betting the loss of professions will "win" every time... I don't think the new combat style is the main thing that people are bothered by. It's the broad strokes changes to the rest of the game. What we've done is to get the game to a much more basic level that we can build on. I submit to you that if we achieve our other goals, this style of combat won't be an issue. The fact is the data we have suggest that for the people that DO sign up for the game they like the combat. For the people that don't, combat isn't the main issue we're losing them.

Just a small point here. Games like WoW, are advertised everywhere, I see it in the newspapers, in magazines, on the net. When I first started playing SWG, it wasn't from an ad, it was from another game. Not even an MMO game. That leaves me to believe that you were asking your community to be your advertisers for free instead of actually getting out there and letting the world know you existed. If you had placed some of that extra funding into advertising SWG instead of constantly changing it, you might have had a larger player base, instead of what you have now...which is a lack of trust from your community, and even from the potential new players. You've created a galaxy that is filled with bitter people, and guess who your new players meet and talk to when they first log in? By failing your community, your failing your game, no matter how great it becomes. If we're going to save SWG, you really need to start by at least compromising with your customers. If you just worry about making the game the way YOU want it, then only the ones like YOU will play it. There really does need to be something for everyone. YOU may not want to be Uncle Owen, but maybe someone else does.
Ok this isn't one of the areas we've fallen down in. We've even had TV commercials, something that most MMO's (including WoW btw) haven't ever done. In fact we were the first until DDO did it on Sci-Fi Friday a few weeks back for the BSG finale.

I'm a developer myself. Oracle and SQL Databases are some pretty easy stuff. The only hard thing would be wading through the layers of buggy C++ code.
And honestly you ought to be worried. You are hemmoraging players daily. This game as it stands is barely on life support. Alot of the players you still have left are here to get their Star Wars fix. If another option surfaced, they would be out of here in a heartbeat.
Seriously, how can you guys think that ripping out the accomplishments and professions of people who invested up to 3 years of thier time, emotions, and energy in this game is acceptable. There are a ton of ex-players that will never come back just for this reason alone.
Hmm...not so hard. I've been doing it everyday for the last 10 years.
Good enough, now provide the code for the tens of thousands of objects, scripts for actions/events, and all of the other stuff, and get it to run. Oh and the source code.
Sorry, just not buying it as a viable solution or even something that will be playable. Keep the dream alive though!

serious question - why do people do this with the large font things? I don't know about you guys but it just annoys the crap out of me. It doesn't make me read it (he says in response to a big font post)

Well Smed... I must say - I don't "know" you, therefore I can not "like" or "dislike" you as a person - My parents always told me "Treat everyone you MEET with respect, and maintain that respect unless it is no longer EARNED". I'm 38 years old by the way..
I've been reading your posts for the better part of today (while running my store - New Moon Comics, LLC in Wayne, NJ) and I must say that I find your dialog to be a breath of fresh air.
Being a native New Yorker - I much rather deal with someone that will give me an answer rather then blow smoke up my...
Here, you've done just that - Provided direct answers...
Except to the "Big Font" question that you replied to.. ROFLMFAO!
Which, if you re-read your post, you did, indeed, ignore it. But, it's a good question that our large-font friend asks... When next you speak to LucasArts, please have them update their SWG site/product Info page. It's rather outdated.
And, "Yes!" Crafters, Smugglers, Creature Handlers, and many of your customer base is quite "Pissed!" at this time... I'll be here until you shut the lights out, but if ThunderHeart calls me and my fellow players "Exploiters" for running a mission over and over, by it's nature and dialog is designed to do exactly that, again... I will leave.
Perhaps it does not bother you... But being called a "cheater" for playing the game EXACTLY as it was desinged to be played, is RUDE, UNFAIR, and deserves an apology by you and Grant... My mid-level character was NOT exploiting the game, John. I received the mission, completed the mission, and chose to continue the hunt. Where did we exploit?

It's easier to answer now because I'm not going blind in the process. The answer is - Dev Team - please find out if this is accurate and have the information changed. obviously I don't want incorrect advertising out there. A website is easy to change.
Any plans to integrate Creature Handler back in anytime soon Mr. Smedley? Thanks, me and a lot of my old CH friends would like to know.
