So that's where Smed gets his ideas for the game from. Couldn't believe how many posts I saw of statements along the lines of, "Didn't they know we want to be Luke or Han, not Uncle Owen."
I don't want to be Luke or Han, or anybody else that is already defined by the movies. I want to to be me living within the Star Wars world...
You noticed those posts too? I thnk he posts there more often because he's more at home there.
Those players would seem to welcome the NGE.
I support removing combat classes if keeping them in results in a "dumbed down" game - I support Devs that know how to design a game
He posts there because he realizes that posting here would result in flame after flame after flame.
And for the record, it is not an NGE love fest over there. Smed actually replies to tough questions. I created a summary of highlights after I read all his entries over there, but my thread got deleted (surprise). One thing he said was that there were definitely too many threads here being deleted and he was going to look into it.

Guess it's time to go. Way to ruin a great game, SOE.

Those posts bothered me more than anything. Smed is shown as registering there in 2005. I feel like that dumbass is listening to some random forum of idiots over his own damned loyal customer base. **edit** is that.
And you're right, he's probably there because those people agree with his line of thinking and make him feel like he is on the right course. Amazing that the angry customers here and the loss of subscriptions cannot convince him otherwise.

Good to know that. I was only making the assumption based from teh posts I read right after Smeds and a few after that.
They seem to hate SWG but because it wasn't "Star Warsy" enough lol.
Good to know I'm wrong

I'm glad to see Smed posts on other forums, he should try this one.

Frankly, Smed should have posted that here, in this forum, on Monday. Thunderheart saying "those are just rumors" is one thing. But Smed flat out denying it is something completely different. I just don't get it.... it would have taken him five minutes to come and post that in his own game's forums.

There is no such thing as freedom of speech in a company owned forum, they don't have a bill of rights. It's their property and they do what they will, wheither it be allowing you to post this or not.
This tread is not by any chance Trolling or false rumors, So for those banne happy moderator i am just practicing my freedom of speach and deceminating some news in the forum.

Smed doesn't respect his players. It's not that he hates anyone, but he doesn't consider the playerbase here to be his peers or equals therefore he doesn't feel the need to mingle amongst the commoner.
Why did I respond on FOH and not here? I just happened to see that thread last night... simple as that. At some point I can only deny nonsensical rumors on so many websites before it just plain becomes frustrating to me. It's the old "when did you stop kicking your puppy" trap..
I've also asked the Lucasarts folks to comment on this which you should see today some time (not sure when or where exactly).
I also want to say - I'm happy to discuss things that need to be done to make SWG better. What I will not do is respond to "go back to pre-NGE" threads or "please make 1 pre-nge server" threads. I've commented on those before.
