I've been reading the replies to that other thread nearly all day. Thanks to those of you who are contributing with your top items. We will be posting a formal list, but I did want to respond to a couple of issues I noticed pretty consistently.
1. Lag - We have seen some high latency in some parts of the game and it's being worked on.
2. Targeting - this actually seems like the #1 issue and we'll be tackling it asap. Can we get some focused ideas on specifically what could make it better? Please assume the fast-action style of combat stays.. are there suggestions on what could improve this?

You still ARENT LISTENING. The point of NGE was to ENHANCE, or so you say. YOUR CUSTOMERS ARE TELLING YOU THAT the new COMBAT SUX. If it has to stay, the ONLY ANSWER IS TO LET IT co-exist with a TARGET LOCK system and let teh USER PICK which to use.
Here is why:
1) People now have to manage a) their field of view b) their toons movement c) their mouse cursor to manually target THIS IS NOT FUN. IT MAKES MANY OF US MOTION SICK. And if you have a disability, the game screws you more than you are already.
2) All this means the new combat is much more labor intensive...why is this bad? OK here we go:
a) you cant really do anything else during combat, like communicate with your group
b) you gutted the pass through targeting ability, along with the autolock, which means groups have an even harder time in controlling their coordination and mob aggro, and need to communicate even more, YET YOU've made communication HARDER.
c) At the same time you screwed up the interface totally.
d) the specials selection scheme IS TERRIBLE....i have to left click on a toolbar special, reacquire my target with the manual mouse crap, then right click, watch to see if it works, because half teh time the special wont fire, then resume left clicking on my target for teh default attack or start all over with toolbar special selection. THIS IS NOT FUN. THIS IS THE WORST SYSTEM I HAVE SEEN - EVER. And I started playing games with PONG in 1978.
Your customers are telling you that YOUR NEW SYSTEM SUX. If it is superior, an enhancement, we would WANT TO USE IT. Instead it makes combat more labor intensive, espcially for melee, and almost impossible at 50+ meters (try target something 2 pixels big that is running amongst other mobs at that range.) IT ISNT FUN. Then try having your mob run into other mobs, as you are chasing with your mouse, next thing you know you have a crap load of unwanted aggro.
How do you fix these PROBLEMS??? SIMPLE - make clicky combat OPTIONAL. MAKE IT OPTIONAL. If it is so great, then people will want to use it. BUT WE DONT. DO NOT FORCE IT ON US. OFFER US CHOICE. New players can still have the "fast paced" combat you advertised, and those of us over 13 yrs old can stick with a target lock and all THE FUNCTIONALITY that comes with it, like pass through targeting. This would show us that you listen...and you would have something NO OTHER game did...a multi-faceted combat system that offers USERS choice in how they fight. We know you have the auto target code...USE IT.
A target lock is the only way to fix these problems. FACE IT - if there were a better system, WoW would already be using it.
